lavrentis Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Do I hear new ground for West Ham? (Pure speculation)
Webbo Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 Do I hear new ground for West Ham? (Pure speculation) I think Orient are going to take after the games. The capacity is going to be reduced to 25,000.
Lovejoy Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 What a bellend! And on the subject of ditching his side Birmingham, what happens when he is disposed of by Man Citeh, as inevitebly happens every few years at most clubs, will he be so pleased then? Knowing Brum will be stuck forever outside the top-flight?
Guest Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 I've been thinking and would it not have been worth not building Wembley and waiting to 2012 and use the olympic stadium? They should have built the new national stadium in the Midlands. Not only would the land have been cheaper, it would have been more accessible to the majority of fans. However, yet again they think only of the big London clubs, plus Manure and the Scousers with their plastic support who daren't venture north of the M4.
LeeCovFox Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 It's an opinion, not one I share mind.I'd rather us resurrect something from the ashes of whatever would be left than to carry on like this. Currently, no team outside the Big 4 has any chance of picking up the top slot unless a multi-billionaire walks in through the doors. I'd opt for drastic surgery to remove this cancer from our game every time. My post wasn't necessarily a reflection of my opinion. Just speculation. I honestly have no idea what would happen if the biggest clubs decided to up and leave. I just think that the scenario I spoke of is a possibility.

I doubt even the support of the "big London clubs, plus Manure and the Scousers with their plastic support who daren't venture north of the M4" came into their minds it was all the corporate boxes and seats that seem to be empty more often than not that swung it to London. Plus their own ability to get from Soho Square in their chauffeur driven limousine.
act smiley Posted 25 August 2008 Posted 25 August 2008 That's precisely what they would like us to believe. Doesn't mean it's true, though.Clubs are collapsing anyway because thanks to TV (Sky and ITV in particularly), the disparities of income in the game are becoming wider. If the big European clubs wanted to form a breakaway league they could have done so. Their reluctance suggests that they might not have quite the power they like to pretend they have. Its a case of "does CL + Premiership Money > Euro-League" essentially. The moment they see the balance as having tipped they'll make a go for it, but Premiership, Serie A etc. are brands that are good enough to make the current setup just as good but a lot less risky. Personally I doubt it'll be long before Game 39 reappears in some form or another, as thats a thing that keeps all the high-value brands they've already established together while expanding alternative revenue streams. ****s. Oh come on, plenty of them are capable of going north of the M4 - there's a whole section of North London up there (including Wembley even), neatly protected by the M25!
