Jonbluefox9 Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Link Not sure how he's eligible but must have Northern Irish blood in him somewhere. Good luck to him! He looked pretty good on Saturday to say he's been out for so long.

Thracian Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 I suspect that Billy's biggest challenge will be to keep his weight in check and stay sharp enough to make his considerable skill count. If he's dedicated enough to do that he really does have an eye for goal and, I'm sure he'll have the strength to hold off any defender. Whatever, it's great to see him back. He adds character to any side.
lavrentis Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 He was standing behind me during the Quorn game. Well done to him.
Tevez Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 I'm chuffed for the lad, Feels weird that only a few years back me and Alb were playing school football with him.
brookfox Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Can't be a coincidence that Beaglehole is NI U19 coach. Good luck to the lad!
The Reverend Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Well done to the lad.His Grandad is Irish, he is eligible to play for Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland. How can you be eligible for both? Thats a bit ridiculous surely?
TrickyTrev Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 How can you be eligible for both? Thats a bit ridiculous surely? Actually under the Good Friday agreement if you are eligible for one you are eligible for the other. Any Irishmen can represent who he choses.
Cheese Me Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 Good bit of news this. Well done Billy, hope to see him keep it up
shiv Posted 26 August 2008 Posted 26 August 2008 he might be moving to northern ireland, he's been offered a contract apparently
Uncle Albert Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 Played tonight, not got a clue on the result. Irish F.A does not seem to post results up.
Nationwider Posted 8 September 2008 Posted 8 September 2008 NI won 2-0 - that's as much as I can add.

The Reverend Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Actually under the Good Friday agreement if you are eligible for one you are eligible for the other. Any Irishmen can represent who he choses. Wow, really? How interesting. he might be moving to northern ireland, he's been offered a contract apparently What sort of contract? One with a Northern Irish team, because thats the only contract he could get. You dont get international contracts. And why would he go and play for a Northern Irish side? Cheeky buggar. Why? Billy's a big lad, like Rooney. And also like Rooney, he needs to keep his weight in check.
step Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 I'm chuffed for the lad, Feels weird that only a few years back me and Alb were playing school football with him. Who did he play for and was he any good.
Tevez Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Who did he play for and was he any good. He played for Allexton/New Parks before City. He also went secondary school and college same time aswel, he played for us in the quornament ages ago and he absolutely ran the show
Uncle Albert Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 Been onto a Northern Ireland forum to see if he played or anything and... He came on last night as sub. Seemed to do alright. Most likely he could start in tomorrows game.
The Stig Posted 9 September 2008 Posted 9 September 2008 I really hope he does well. Still seems a bit odd that its the Billy I used to see walking round Humphrey Perkins all the time!
