We've lost far too many players for nothing where we could've previously cashed in. Not saying it's not sad to see Monga leave and I'd imagine the £10m is about 95% performance related, but at least we've got something.

Only positive is it looked like we were going to lose him for next to nothing not so long ago, so at least we’ve got a half decent fee.

Of course we should, ideally every player should be a warrior, on sensible wages, an athlete, technically brilliant in their position, live nearby, be a good character off the pitch etc… however we’re now a League One club so have to trade off something. And based on the past I’d accept a less gifted footballer for a good character as it seems to be this that needs redressing in the squad more than anything.

Feels like one of the biggest changes we can make this summer is switching out players who don’t want to be here or are here due to golden handcuffs to those that do. None of our relegations have been because we’ve had the worst players, it’s because other teams have wanted it more than us. Winks appears to epitomise that more than most so I’d be happy to switch him out for a less talented player who plays for the shirt.

Maybe we swap to Rudderless.

Just back from Prague. What a lovely place! Beautiful architecture, nice parks and walks just outside the city, safe, clean, people were friendly and it was definitely cheaper but probably not quite the same as it was a decade ago.

I mean we’re going to face a lot of low blocks so having a manager who prioritises possession is a good fit. And he has a decent rep for developing and promoting young players. Thats as optimistic as I can get about it!
