Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 One player who is joining the City squad today is French defender Youl Mawene who was Derby County's player of the year last season. The 24-year-old 6ft 1in defender is only on trial but will be given some part of the match against Finnish second division side Espoo tomorrow night in Helsinki. Not bad

Not bad i was about to say he is out-of-contract and young and a defender yesterday, but i forgot. will be a good signing in my view. he can play centre back as well. well played micky for getting him on trial.
Ricey Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 Really pleased with this! He is quick, young, agile and a decent player from what I've seen Let's just hope he impresses Micky.
Cobbo Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 they took their time in trying to sign the under 30's we all wanted ay! get him in Micky!
87fox Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 the Squad will be starting to look good now if these signings go through.
dan_84 Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 new to this so hi everyone. my uncle is a derby fan and this lad is meant to be a cracking young lad, and was gutted to see him leave. things are certainly looking up. just want micky to sign a battling midfielder to give williams a bit of freedom in the midle. bit like how it was in the izzet and lennon era.

Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Author Posted 12 July 2004 Yes lets get the next lot of 1 year contracts in We should not buy players with that in mind, we need a future.
gagandeep Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 Yes lets get the next lot of 1 year contracts in We should not buy players with that in mind, we need a future. what young player can we get for 250k at most who would do as good as kinsella?
Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Author Posted 12 July 2004 I dont care, we dont need Kinsella, and im sure we wont get him. So its dream over for you!
gagandeep Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 I dont care, we dont need Kinsella, and im sure we wont get him. So its dream over for you! i wasnt saying get kinsella, i was jsut saying someone like him could do a job. i wouldnt car eif he came or not, but we need at defensive midfielder. freund would have been well good if we had kept him.
dan_84 Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 I would put money on leicester not signing another player over 30. i think adams has brought in his experienced players to build a team around along with walker and elliott. i think we'l sign a couple more on long term contracts then maybe get a couple more in on loan. im excited with some of the names being mentiond. that derby lad is an excellent prospect, along with williams, canero, stewart.

Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Author Posted 12 July 2004 yea, i think the under 17's and 19's r excellent aswell. Nice one
gagandeep Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 yea, i think the under 17's and 19's r excellent aswell. Nice one is alan hill was it, who got the sack when we went into administration. has he got a job yet? it's cos of him all these palyers r coming through. we should get him back.
Mark Posted 12 July 2004 Author Posted 12 July 2004 Alan Hill brought in the likes of Wesolowski and Petrescu from abroad. He's the best academy manager we could of had, and we got him. Went into admin, kept the likes of DAVE BASSETT and let the future of our club go. Disgrace IMO!

andy_croydz Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 i dont know much about this guy but from what ive heard and it says about him it sounds good, hes only 24 aswell
dan_84 Posted 12 July 2004 Posted 12 July 2004 No wonder we only play the long ball game then if Rudkin is in charge of the kids. he was my manager for a year when it was called the school of excellence and the only way u got signed on was if u were 6ft tall, weighed about 15 stone and could head a ball.
