On Radio 5 this afternoon a woman who worked for them in the US confirmed it is just a marketing stunt. UK newspapers can be VERY gullible (as can FT posters ) 30 stores properly changed the signs and all though (albeit temporarily). I passed one today.

With the credit crunch, obviously less people will be going pizza hut, so changing it's name now in the current economic climate has given it lots of publicity which could ultimately get a few more people in the door. Also pizzas are seen as unhealthy food, pasta is seen as healthy so image consious people mainly women who are desperate to be thin, who never used to go pizza hut, may go because it's called pasta hut. Good idea? then they deserve to be fat - pasta (especially from a pizza restaurant) is not a low calorie dish... people only go to pizza hut cause they know what they're getting, it has a (oh dear) certain status and (no, i'm sorry) prestidge in certain sections of society... the best place i had pizza in leicester wasin a bar up hinkley road, that i can't remember the name of...

Dominos ... 400. PIZZA TIME! ... 500. That shockingly bad place in Shepshed that used to alternate between being a chippy and a pizza place and was crap at both. 501. Pizza Hut 502. Mama's Kebabs - The Kebab Pizza Special. tbh.
