With the credit crunch, obviously less people will be going pizza hut, so changing it's name now in the current economic climate has given it lots of publicity which could ultimately get a few more people in the door. Also pizzas are seen as unhealthy food, pasta is seen as healthy so image consious people mainly women who are desperate to be thin, who never used to go pizza hut, may go because it's called pasta hut. Good idea?

Good idea? Seen this in the Metro it said they did it because of the new menu it has more pasta dishes than pizza.

It's not gonna make me go there any more, but atleast i'm not constantly reminded of pizza when I go past it now. For all of Maddogs reasoning, it's a good idea. A bit of extra limelight is never a bad thing. A saturation strategy. Get your business termonology out.

On Radio 5 this afternoon a woman who worked for them in the US confirmed it is just a marketing stunt. UK newspapers can be VERY gullible (as can FT posters )

The type of woman you are referring to does not touch a simple carb. Pizza Hut have been doing pasta dishes for ages, but the last time I had one, it was greasy stodge.
