Thracian Posted 6 November 2008 Posted 6 November 2008 Bumper crowd of 29,000 expected, according to the OS.1,045 There won't be many. With two games a week at the moment I cannot see Stevenage being much of an attraction. Especially after the Rotherham result. Quite a lot of fans don't really care much about anything but promotion at the moment and while the squad's so thin I can understand why. I've still not made my mind up about going. The principle of paying so much for such shit fixture irks and if they make as much effort as reports suggested they made at Sheffield then it would serve em right if no-one turned up. If I were Pearson I'd use the game to try the fastest, most attacking line-up I could muster. I would want to refocus and establish a new sense of purpose. I'd have all the non-passers out of the side and even more passers on the bench. I'd set out to score goals. As many as we could get. And that would be the aim for the rest of the season. Every single decision would aimed at that end. The fans would be urged to get behind them from the very first minute of the match. We have a PR job to do and it starts again with Stevenage. We really have to start putting on a show again and to re-rally the interest of the more casual fans. Mandaric rightly called for the fans to help but he and his servants carry responsibilities of their own. It's a two-way deal for all but the most fanatical of our followers. What's been happening lately and particularly at Sheffield didn't in any way fulfil those responsibilities. And I don't mean just losing. I mean setting out to win with some urgency from the very first kick. If you don't do that you won't get or deserve a turnout. The Stevenage attendance will reflect that. About 11,000 is my guess.
