Aren't Tranmere famous for traditionally playing their home games on Friday nights rather than Saturday afternoons? Pretty irrelevant as this is a midweek game I know, but I'd be interested to know why.

Traditionally Tranmere played home games on a Friday night because a lot of Liverpool and Everton fans used to go in addition to attending matches at Anfield or Goodison. Two things have happened over the last few years: Football is now more expensive and few people are able to afford to go to and see two teams, and the Football League are less accomodating that they used to be and prefer Tranmere to play their home games at the same time as everone else. There are some Friday games still, but only a handful each season. Simon
