lildave3 Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Ridiculous decision to send Lampard off, and then to keep Bosingwa on? The ref and his assistant had a shocker.

davieG Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Ridiculous decision to send Lampard off, and then to keep Bosingwa on? The ref and his assistant had a shocker. Is the linesman blind or just plain biased?Bosingwa should be ashamed. I thought the linesman was flagging for the foul, it was certanly more vigorous than you'd see for a throw in or corner.
DB11 Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I thought the linesman was flagging for the foul, it was certanly more vigorous than you'd see for a throw in or corner. He flagged for a foul because "The standard pre-match instructions for a lot of senior referees is for the AR to "find a defensive free kick" if a team takes it into the corner to time waste. The rationale is that doing this avoids tackles such as Bosingwa's today - although in this case his flag wasn't in time to prevent Bosingwa losing the plot."
davieG Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Agreed......but not that shower of glory-hunting, bin-dipping, granny-bashing, self-pitying, cheating, thieving, murdering lowlife. I hope they have to wait at least ANOTHER 19 years.. Well I can see you're not biased in anyway The studs were inches off the ground. It was a far less dangerous challenge than Gerrard's kung-fu attack which caught Terry in the face.As for the Bosingwa hack at Benayoun, that should have earned a red card. Gerrard's kick was high but not unusual or dangerous in isolation and he didn't know Terry was behind him, Lampard on the other hand went in high, with studs showing and what looked like intent. As for Bosingwa of course he should have been red carded.
Simi Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Baffling. If they want respect it needs to be earned, they're doing themselves no favours at the moment. The FA are more at fault though overall, if they don't come out and punish Boswingwa then it really is mindblowing. They are a disgrace to football as it stands. At the moment they are just managing to push the game further away from their grasp.
Thracian Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 You have said it all. Yes, nothing like foreign referees... http://www.rte.ie/sport/2005/1117/hoyzerr.html?rss And doubtless Brian Clough would have had something to say about foreign referees too, along the same lines! http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2006/jan/08/features.sport13 1984: Taking a 2-0 lead to Anderlecht in their semi-final, Nottingham Forest look certain to face Spurs in the Uefa Cup final. However, they lose 3-0. Thirteen years later the Belgian club's president, Roger Vanden Stock, admits that his father, the then president, had 'loaned' the referee £20,000. Anderlecht were banned from European competition for a year.

Ultra Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Yes, nothing like foreign referees...http://www.rte.ie/sport/2005/1117/hoyzerr.html?rss Of course, nothing like that could ever possibly happen in England, where directors, managers, players and match officials are all as pure as the driven snow. Just like our journalists and politicians, eh? And doubtless Brian Clough would have had something to say about foreign referees too, along the same lines! I'm sure he would, especially after a whisky or ten. As Sir Alan Sugar among others will confirm, Clough's own cash-in-hand dealings weren't always above board. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2006/jan/08/features.sport131984: Taking a 2-0 lead to Anderlecht in their semi-final, Nottingham Forest look certain to face Spurs in the Uefa Cup final. Darkzzz_ Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I am fed up of constantly saying what you have said above. Swept under the carpet springs to mind with a lot of things in this country.

Simi Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Bosingwa escapes punishment Absolutely disgraceful from the FA. All because he managed to come up with his 'apology' this morning in time for the FA to take pity on him. No doubt Lampard will have his card chalked off and we'll be back to square one. Spineless decision from a joke of an organisation.

Darkzzz_ Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 The F.A are a disgrace. Just read the news now. How can they justify this? Shocking.
Uncle Albert Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 Ow my. The F.A and whatever nobhead hires Referee's should all take a long hard look at themselves and think 'What the fook has happened here?'. Ok Lampard shouldnt of been sent off so we should recind that but then Bosingwa has made a horror tackle on Benayoun and we will take action with this. Surely that would of been the best approach from The F.A?
davieG Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 It would appear based on their statement and previous altercations with 'big clubs' that have more power and more money than they do that the FA are shit scared of being taken to court on points of law and suffering large compensation claims..
Joe. Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 I'd say it's unbelievable that the FA have taken no action on Boswinga's "tackle", but I'd be lying. It's just part of a string of shambolic decisions put together by these morons over the years.

I think everyone thought they would rescind Lampards red and stamp down on Bosingwa for his disgraceful act. They are absolute morons.
lildave3 Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 How the **** has he got away with that?! That's just plain stupid. The FA are just a bunch of morons.
DB11 Posted 2 February 2009 Posted 2 February 2009 It's not the FA at all. It's the assistant, Mo Matadar, that has admitted he saw it therefore under FIFA law the FA can take no further action. The assistant has said he's seen it but not deemed it to be an offence.

Well I'm sure I saw him waving his flag in vigorous manners as if to indicate a foul, more than if it was just a throw in/corner
