Collymore Posted 24 April 2005 Posted 24 April 2005 That is very scary when you look at those point differences. All of our games are easly loseable too
step Posted 24 April 2005 Posted 24 April 2005 Forest cant catch us That leaves brighton. and I can see brighton beating ipswitch. Can you?
davieG Posted 24 April 2005 Author Posted 24 April 2005 Forest cant catch usThat leaves brighton. and I can see brighton beating ipswitch. Can you? 98053 Yes I can, especially if they've already lost the Auto race, resting players comes to mind. Brighton are also proving difficult to beat having drawn their last 3 games against Us, Burnley and West Ham. If they beat Rotherham and Ipswich are deflated from missing the Auto spot, Brighton could escape. Our best chance is Crewe losing/drawing to Ipswich and then being denied by a desperate Coventry
Louise Posted 24 April 2005 Posted 24 April 2005 Forest cant catch usThat leaves brighton. and I can see brighton beating ipswitch. Can you? 98053 They don't need to, they just need to beat Rotherham then draw with Ipswich and if we don't pick up another point they'd go ahead of us. However relegation for us looks a bit unlikely, as both Brighton and Crewe would have to get 4 points from their last two games and we'd have to lose our next three. Even if we just get a point from our next 3 that would mean Brighton and Crewe would have to win their next two.
breadandcheese Posted 24 April 2005 Posted 24 April 2005 Let's put it another way. Ipswich (chasing automatic promotion) have to play both Crewe and Brighton. On the assumption Leicester lose all their remaining games and pick up nil points, both Crewe and Brighton need 4 points from a remaining 6. That means neither team can lose to Ipswich. In which case, I ask the question, can you see Ipswich picking-up only 1 or 2 points from their remaining games. I actually have a sneaky feeling Gillingham will go down, picking up a further 1 point.

Regardless of how motivated they are for Brighton...

Of course this presumes we lose all 3 games.

They can't overtake us if they lose...Brighton can, but Crewe can't
toonboy Posted 24 April 2005 Posted 24 April 2005 from an unbiased point of view i can't see leicester going down. in most of the other leagues 3 points from safety would be very dangerous but there are too many teams between them and relegation. i just can't see leicester losing all 3 of their games and all 6 teams below them winning at least 1.
