Frenzied Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 Read an article about Forest's impending doom in the Guardian on Saturday. There's a quote from a letter sent by a Sheff Weds fan to the Forest fanzine - it's frightening stuff: "Welcome to Hell," he began. "Be prepared to suffer as we have suffered. Prepare yourselves for the constant whine of 'You're not famous any more'. Shake your heads in disbelief as you go down 3-0 at home to a team who have brought under a thousand supporters. "Don't kid yourselves you're watching football. It's ugly, and the ball needs oxygen and painkillers at half-time. Watch percentage football being played by teams who can't pass. Weep at the memory of your legends. Weep for your children who won't see anything better for years to come." Forest article I just hope we survive. Think we will but that description had me sh*tting myself. I actually felt sorry for the Trees after reading it.
Scow Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 It's certainly not a nice propsect. A lot of people seem to be complacent about the notion of relegation, however, if we lose against Derby tomorrow, we'll be 3 points above the drop zone with the same amount of games played. You can argue that the likes of Crewe and Brighton are not in the best of form - But look what Norwich and West Brom have produced in recent weeks - Who would have predicted that?
Ric Flair Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 We won't go down. If we do, then we deserve to and bollocks to whatever else happens.

In fact after Saturday's results we actually look a bit safer. However, that quote from the Sheff Weds fan really hit home how serious relegationn would be for us and will be for the Trees. Despite Forest being one of my worst teams for obvious reasons I wouldn't want to see the same happen to them as it did to Sheff Weds. For a start we'd rarely ever play them. They used to be a half decent side and have been fcuked over by the financial mismanagement of football. Still, rather them than us.
davieG Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 Well I hope the 16 who voted for relegation as a price for winnig the FA Cup read it. You know who you are!
Ricey Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 I still haven't fully accepted in my mind that we will be playing Championship football again next year never mind League One football. We can't go down.......can we?
filbertway Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 I really cant see us going down to be honest. I think we will get 3 points at least from next 3 games and that should be enough.
step Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 Ok, I confess I was one of those that wants to win the FA cup. but I must admit now that the prospect of div 3 football is looming The FA cup dont seam so important. But fear not, we wont go down.
andy peake Posted 25 April 2005 Posted 25 April 2005 One of the most important results on Saturday was that Wigan didn't beat QPR at home. Had they done so Ipswich may have lost heart and settled for the play offs. As it is they still have a chance of automatic promotion and should go for it at home to Crewe next Saturday. If they win that we're safe regardless of our remaining games and our infinite ability to cock up ....barring a mathematical miracle.
