Ultra Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 BBC Sport Leicester City midfielder Andy King has said he hopes the Foxes can confirm their place in the Championship as soon as possible. Leicester lead League One but, after a run of three games without a win, a poor Easter weekend could see them just one point above the play-off zone. King told BBC Radio Leicester: "If we can get promoted as soon as possible, that's certainly what we're aiming for. "We're in pole position, top with five games to go, it's almost ours to lose." Leicester go to struggling Hereford United on Saturday and host play-off contenders Leeds on Monday. Nigel Pearson's men could find themselves in second position for the first time since November because Peterborough, who are just two points behind them, host Cheltenham on Good Friday, a day before Leicester travel to Edgar Street. And King still feels that the mood in the camp is positive. He added: "We're all still confident in ourselves and each other and will be strong enough to get over the edge."

I hope this doesn't mean that complacency has set in as that is the biggest danger in my opinion.

Cheers You're right but we've also got a manager who obviously sanctioned us defending in such numbers that we didn't leave a striker up front to contest a punt like King's. and the result was a catastrophe waiting to happen. We'd also got two centre-backs who both possess the power of speech and who impeded one another by going for the same ball. As Kisnorbo was the one meeting the ball it shouldn't have been hard for two supposedly experienced men to realise whose ball it was. But they didn't, Brown ended up virtually making a back for Kisnorbo and it was yet another late and totally unnecessary cock-up. There was no excuse for Kingy's aimless punt but that's the sort of team we've become since Tunchev's departure and it's little wonder he's started to follow suit.

Sorry pal but I don't advocate clearing to nobody when there could and should be options. Possession is paramount to me. King should have had close options calling for the ball and the option of a long range target. He didn't seem to get either to me.
martyn Posted 10 April 2009 Posted 10 April 2009 Completely not the point i'm making....of course it would have been nice to have a multitude of options but he didn't and thus the next best thing is to get it in the corners and make it difficult for the opposition to get out. Instead, King punted it straight down the middle facilitating an immediate attack. Anyway, its gone now..hopefully King can be instrumental tomorrow for the right reasons like many other times this season.
