The Reverend Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Yesterday, I finally got a 1080p HD ready TV (Hitachi 42"). It is quite simply staggering. Anyone considering getting one - just do it. I feel like i've wasted the last 6 months playing on a standard definition TV. The difference in every way is stunning - the MASSIVE thing i've notice though is how much more crystal clear it makes the 360's dashboard and menu's, same for the PS3's dasboard. Everything is just taken to another level. Also, now I can truly judge, I think I can say that Killzone2 is the best looking console game ever made. Even better than MGS4. It looks absolutely amazing in 1080p HD.

Lovejoy Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Rev if you don't mind me asking, how much? Thinking of buying one myself instead of a decent holiday .
The Reverend Posted 12 April 2009 Author Posted 12 April 2009 Rev if you don't mind me asking, how much?Thinking of buying one myself instead of a decent holiday . Well I actually got it second hand, a few months old, great condition, 42" LCD, cost me £400. I sold my old one for £150 too, so in reality only £250. It was well worth it. EDIT: There was one on Dabs.com i was considering before i got mine, 32 inch Samsung, full HD 1080p, £410 delivered.

Hitesh Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 Have a Samsung 6 series and its amazing! The up scaling on the PS3 is quality aswell! The best I've seen from any player or TV too.
MC Prussian Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 I've heard but praise for Samsung HD TV's - considering their comparatively low price, they seem to offer the best "bang for your buck" at the moment.
Legend_in_blue Posted 12 April 2009 Posted 12 April 2009 I have one of those Philips Ambilight TVs. It's pretty good.

Legend_in_blue Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Whats specs yours mate?Size? 1080p? It's 32". I bought it 3 years ago so it only does 720p as the 1080p sets were around £1900 at the time. It won the WhatTV best HDTV award for the year. It also has a motorised TV stand which is cool - I'm lazy! Still I love it because the ambilight system gives off the colours on the screen around the back of the set. At night, the whole corner of the room lights up. It's pretty cool. Worked wonders with Dead Space late evenings! I would also recommend a decent surround sound system. A Pioneer setup would do you nicely. They come in at around £380 with a DVD upscaler.
