Webbo Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Don't forget to rate the players at www.player-ratings.com/rate if you went to the Southend game yesterday. *cough*
Guest ttfn Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Stockdale 5 - Looked really slow to respond Edworthy 6 - Looked old but was fairly steady. Should probably retire. Morrison 7.5 - Looked a bit dodgy at times defensively, two decent finishes though. Hobbs 7 - Played ok, not sure he's as good as a lot of people think. Just because he's young and English doesn't make him better than certain others (Kisnorbo for one). That said, if PK is leaving, he's a decent replacement. Powell 7 - A true servant to the game. One of our better players on the night. Should also retire. Gradel 7 - Better defensively than going forward. Needs to learn the art of the early ball. Oakley 7 - Decent game, held it together well. King 6.5 - Similar to Oakley, but had less influence. Dyer 4 - His reactions to every ball seemed to be very slow, as though he'd started drinking before hand. Fryatt 6 - Put in a decent shift, but really ought to have scored. Howard 4.5 - For someone who has been such a hard working and dependable character, I thought his behaviour yesterday was uncalled for. Put in some poor challenges and was very fortunate not to be sent off for a series of them. At the very least partially responsible for their lad being stretchered off. subs: Dickov 5 - We've won the league, so why persist with the pain-in-the-arse attitude? That said, he linked the play ok. Berner 4 - Not a centre back, done for the penalty. Ajdarevic 1 - Gave the ball away LITERALLY every time he had it. Not impressed at all. Is it me being mean and grumpy to suggest that he and Warner shouldn't have been given medals?
Thracian Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Ajdarevic 1 - Gave the ball away LITERALLY every time he had it. Not impressed at all. Is it me being mean and grumpy to suggest that he and Warner shouldn't have been given medals? Warner played a small part, no question, but for Ajdarevic to get a medal devalues the concept of prize-giving. He looked like another Djeziri to me. All fancy tricks and no achievement. Even watching him in the warm-ups he was exactly as I imagined. I don't know what Psssh did to upset Pearson but it must have been serious to leave Adjarevic in a City shirt.

lou Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 well fooking off without contacting the club for ages tends to piss managers off How do you know this? Hes been ill hasnt he?
Thracian Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 well fooking off without contacting the club for ages tends to piss managers off Bosses have to cope with emotional problems almost every day of their working lives, especially where young players are involved or people who take the wrong turn for a while...it must have been one like going the wrong way up a motorway to make the boss blank you teamwise for 8 months and put some of the doubtful talent we've selected for the bench lately.
Bert Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 well fooking off without contacting the club for ages tends to piss managers off 2 days is hardly ages.
chrisfox Posted 25 April 2009 Posted 25 April 2009 Stockdale - 6 A couple of good saves/blocks early on when we were lacking concentration Edworthy - 5 didn't look too comfortable on the ball, never first choice Hobbs - 8 solid and more importantly calm when things weren't going to plan Morrison - 9 Excellent at the back, and popping up for 2 goals, man of the match Powell - 6 struggled a bit in the first half, got better as the game went on Gradel - 7 thought he was going off when he went down after 3 minutes, but bounced back. ran his socks off, but as always wanted too many touches. Oakley - 6 drifted in and out of the game but fairly good game King - 6 see Oakley Dyer - 6 couldn't beat his man on the night, and in fairness he looked a bit knackered Fryatt - 6 didn't have his best game, should have scored at least 1 Howard - 6 won his headers, did some good work holding the ball up, but silly booking Subs: Berner - 5 gave away the pen(harsh in my opinion), never really recovered from it Dickov - 5 pretty much a waste of space again Adjarevic - 4 i nearly shit my pants every time he got the ball. expected to have more time on the ball than you get in league 1, needs to improve quickly if he wants a contract! referee - 0 what a total muppet
