Fox92 Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 There both good captains, in a sense. They both led teams to the Premierleague whilst being captain. Of course Oakley at Derby and I think Clemence was captain at Birmingham. However, I do prefer Oakley as a player, as a captain, as everything really. But don't forget what Clemence is capable of. Oakley for me!
Pete_foxes Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 I'd be outraged if King was dropped in favour of Clemence. King deserves a crack at Championship football. He has earned his place and Pearson would be a knobhead if he drafted Clemence, who haven't played football for over 18 months, in instead of King. yeah Clemence defiantly does not deserve to start the season in favor of King, I'd still be keen to give him a chance this season, who knows what effect Pearson may have on players, not forgetting Clemence was Birmingham's player of the season the year we signed him, oh well we shall wait and see.
djedmundo Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 It has to be Oakley, he knows how the team plays and how to kick the players into gear coz he's played all season with the lads!
flanimal Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 I don't know about Clem, seriously think he'll retire soon. Maybe a bit of coaching awaits.
Red Leicester Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Skipper Clemence started 32 games in 2007/2008 and we were relegated at the end. Great advert that. That the same season Fryatt had 30 appearances and only netted 2 league goals? Thankfully not everyone approaches the game with the kind of logic you demonstrate otherwise we'd have been a bit scuppered for goals this season.
Carlos9 Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 You cant really say who a good captain is because you dont see what goes on behind the scenes.
carterfox90 Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 neither we should buy a tough tackling midfielder who has a big gob on him to shout at people to get them motivated i think oakley & clemence are to soft
blueoveru Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 neither we should buy a tough tackling midfielder who has a big gob on him to shout at people to get them motivated i think oakley & clemence are to soft Try BROWN now he has signed a contract, experienced defender knows the time of day gets stuck in and could well help our younger men in defence to develop
Basingstoke Fox Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 I get the impression most people would prefer Oakley . We might get another awesome player in who could be captain we don't know yet.
