C-man Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 All his troubles was during his Manchester City era. Ever since he has joined Newcastle I can't recall him acting like a cunt off the field. Granted, he hasn't played much this season due to suspensions and jail time, but I think he has matured. I know I'm in the minority in this [along with Uncle Albert]. Every little thing he does will be picked up by the media and milked to death, blowing everything out of proportion, to a point where I actually sympathize with him. My point was that he disrupts team spirit. He's not exactly the easiest person to get along with is he? I'm not saying that he's the main reason why Newcastle are on the brink of relegation, but I'd bet you he's not someone you'd like to see in the dressing room when you're 2-0 down at half-time.
Edmund Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 One would spit in your face and the other would proceed to stub his cigarette in your eye. Fascinating.
Thracian Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Why would any club or any manager bother with Barton? I wouldn't. Football would be better off without him.
DB11 Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 If you look at it he actually gets the ball, takes Alonso clean out as well granted and it's a lunge and a half but it aint that bad a tackle in the grand scheme of things. Totally irrelevant!!!!!!!!!!!
lookwhaticando Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Totally irrelevant!!!!!!!!!!! What's the difference between Alan Shearer and Newcastle United? Alan Shearer will be on MOTD next season.
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 What's the difference between Alan Shearer and Newcastle United?Alan Shearer will be on MOTD next season. Midly amusing...
Ultra Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 He had an altercation with someone in Liverpool city centre in December 2007, after he'd joined Newcastle. Indeed, and he spent nearly three months in jail because of it. Can't remember whether Newcastle continued paying him during this time.
BoneDog Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 If I were Newcastle manager and someone was stupid enough to offer me 3mill for Barton I'd snap their hand off. A player should accept what their manager says to them in the dressing room unless it's totally outrageous but I doubt what Shearer said was out of order. I bet Shearer just told him he was p*ssed off he didn't take the pre-match advice to control himself, and then Barton flipped cos he thinks he's the frickin Don. I would get rid straight away. The lad obviously can't control himself as has been seen on numerous occasions. I used to have that problem when I was about 13

lookwhaticando Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Fat Sam. He would fit right in at Blackburn. If he was available to us, I'd take him in without second thoughts. And so it was: Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce, the man who signed Joey Barton for Newcastle, could be interested in acquiring him for Rovers after the Magpies began moves to terminate the midfielder's contract. Independent.
Vacamion Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 One would spit in your face and the other would proceed to stub his cigarette in your eye. Fascinating. Surely you would want the spit in the face AFTER the cigar in the eye...it would help put it out.
Ultra Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I also hear that Sheff Utd might take Barton on if they get promoted. Chris "Skullbreaker" Morgan would be quite happy to play alongside him..
AyewJoking Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I fear Shearer has made a rod for his back by introducing all these rules and ruling with an iron fist. These arent Shearers players and their attitude is already up for question the way they have capitulated this season and now face relegation.
Thracian Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 And so it was:Independent. Allardyce and Barton probably deserve each other.
leftsideoverhere Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 And this week's award for stating the bleeding obvious goes to Lou... Maybe he has an attitude? Who knows...
