foxoffderby Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I for one think the club should bring back the chap who would played that musical instrument (is it called a bugal?) before the players came out of the tunnel. We are the foxes afterall and its a Leictershire tradition, even though I know fox hunting is not in vogue at the moment and I for one am not interested in fox hunting in the slightest. But that sound of the fox hunter brings us all together and would improve the atmosphere before a game, and show the opposition were up for the hunt. Up the foxes!

Alexikokopops Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Who won the sexy lady fox hunt competition by the way? Abi.
Munzie Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 It's the post horn gallop and has fcuk all to do with fox hunting. That was nicely explained The Post Horn Gallop was a tune used to signal the arrival of mail by coachmen. It is however, associated with hunting.
Matt Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 They have, Unless it's not going to be permanent, but it has been played before KO in the last 2 home games and before trophy presentation. And I know it's probably a hard instrument to play, but its only good when it is played perfect, Henry couldn't play it very good without doubt he'd hit more the one bad note - that's why I wanted rid of him, The bloke who has played it recently isn't too bad.

His attempt at Leeds left a lot to be desired. But as you say, if it's played right it does have more of an effect on the atmosphere than our revamped disco CD version.

I think he played it perfect before the Scunny game, or maybe it was at the Scunny game before the Trophy Presentation? I think he has played it 3 times, Once spot on.
Uncle Monty Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 He played it at the Leeds game for definite. It wasn't a great rendition but defo got the atmosphere going.
