DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Elvis Presley is called the "King" but I reckon Roy ("The Big O") Orbison had a better voice.
Granno Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 Elvis Presley is called the "King" but I reckon Roy ("The Big O") Orbison had a better voice. They're both shit.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 There's no doubt whatsoever that Roy had the better voice Someone in the music business (can't remember who) said that if Roy Orbison had Elvis's looks, then he would have been bigger than Elvis. I agree.
Webbo Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 If Eddie Cochrane had lived he'd have shat on both of them.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 25 May 2009 Author Posted 25 May 2009 If Eddie Cochrane had lived he'd have shat on both of them. Eddie Cochrane was good, and I have a fair bit of his material, but I don't agree that he would heve been better than either. He certainly would have been massive though. Didn't have Roys massive range of vocal brilliance.
Lillehamring Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 they both are excellent, and perhaps a stronger argument for the 60s being superior to now - their are very few really distinct male voices, and i can't really think of many (if any) world class male solo artists... for me, it's all about ray charles and glen campbell, though - could listen to them all day....
