Someone in the music business (can't remember who) said that if Roy Orbison had Elvis's looks, then he would have been bigger than Elvis.

Eddie Cochrane was good, and I have a fair bit of his material, but I don't agree that he would heve been better than either.

He certainly would have been massive though. Didn't have Roys massive range of vocal brilliance.

they both are excellent, and perhaps a stronger argument for the 60s being superior to now - their are very few really distinct male voices, and i can't really think of many (if any) world class male solo artists...

for me, it's all about ray charles and glen campbell, though - could listen to them all day....
