Libertine Posted 13 July 2009 Posted 13 July 2009 Al Murray is a bit of a cunt tbh. He's OK for about 5 minutes, but then he gets patronising after that. His whole The Pub Landlord persona is quite funny, but it gets tedious after a while. S'why it was good last night. Only 10mins max.

Cpldn't agree more there is nt a more one dimensional comedian than Al Murray i knew most of his jokes before he came on stage. The fact that he's not tried anything enw in whats sessentially a decade or so pf stand up shows his lack of depth. In fact, scrath that, the did try soemthing new, that awful sketch sho that made me cry it was that bad. Poor this week, jo caulfield shoudln;t be allowed near comedy, although i liked the little northern bloke wuite alot, thought he was very good, made me laugh.
General Smuts Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 That squeeky fella was very good. The opener wasn't too bad either. Jo Caulfield is attrocious. Towards the end of her set i took to pausing it and telling the missus the punchlines. 9 times out of 10 i was right and not funny. Shambles. Al Murray was a bit meh.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 What was the squeaky one's name? He was qual-a-tayyyyyy.
Vardinhio Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 Saw Al Murray at the Trent FM Arena, used EXACTLY the same material, boring to be honest....
The Birch Posted 14 July 2009 Posted 14 July 2009 What was the squeaky one's name? He was qual-a-tayyyyyy. Jon Richardson

He used to sneak around looking for people he could report to teachers on. One of my Dad's mates (albeit on a drunken rant about Al Murray that sounded very much like an Al Murray rant) was telling me about when Murray led a teacher into a pub, pointed at him and said 'Underage drinkers sir' ect ect. Funny to see how people change.
