If he was english you'd all be wetting yourself over him. Get over it, he's scottish and the best british tennis player for decades. FACT!

Amen.

Murray will be a Wimbledon finalist this year in my opinion

Federer not playing in Halle now, so Murray will have far better preparation on the grass for Wimbledon than both the top seeds.

Interesting. How come?? How will he prepare for Wimbledon?

Exhaustion and being overwhelmed I think. Interesting the way Wimbledon is shaping up.

Yep that's what the BBC says, pretty surprising tbh. Yes the French Open would have taken a lot out of him but surely with Nadal's situation, he'd want to be fully prepared to win back the Wimbledon title. Shaping up nicely for all the contenders and in particular Andy Murray.

Especially considering the 450 point loss to Nadal, even is Fed put in a semi-decent performance he would gain points on Rafa, surely he wants the number 1 spot back?

Well he's leaving it down to Wimbledon to do so. All Rafa has to do is further or equal Fed's position in the Tournament to stay number One.

I don't know if Murray can catch him up. Hope not.

What sort of odds can you get on it being a Murray vs Federer final?

I'd wait for the draw. If they're in the same half it's semi or no.

Is Murray ranked 3rd or 4th? I could swear on SSN just a minute ago they were asking Henman if being number 3 would put extra pressure on him? Or have I lost the plot completely  ?

I think he's ranked 3rd.

Roddick versus Hewitt coming up now, potential to be a great match.

Not quite. Security alert so they've stopped the warm up.

Chalk another one up for the main man, I believe that takes him ahead of henman...already, not that I'm comparing them or anything.

He was the highest ranked player and he won. You can't ask much more of him.

That must be the first time neither of the top two players has taken part though. Would've liked a Nadal V Murray pre wimbledon showdown. shame.

There's a nice piece with Henman in the Observer today. I can't see why you don't like him.

"Andy Murray is a better player than i was definitely. His results say that"

It's time to let it go ronnie

Well done to Murray... played some good stuff today...

Don't get too carried away on this ludicrous bandwagon that the media seems to be creating for him though... he was the highest seeded and ranked player, had a fairly easy draw the whole way through until the final and whilst he did play very well... it'll be a hell of a lot harder at Wimbledon.

He's number 3 in the world, he's British, the top two seeds are entering unprepared, of course the media are going to hype it. For once, I think the media haven't overhyped it, Murray is looking imperious at the minute.

This.

Wait until he comes through a couple of tough five-setters before assessing his ability to win at Wimbledon.

Oh give it a rest! Imperious!?! Just cause he won a few matches on grass against clay-courters, has-beens and non-entities who never challenge the top players!!! He played well but his ONLY match which could have posed any problems was the final and that was pretty tight and at times he wasn't as sure footed as some make him out to be.

And yes, the media HAVE overhyped it completely... Murray might have a chance... but I'll put it down as a slim chance of winning Wimbledon unlike what the media are making out... and I couldn't care less if he's the World Number 3 or 50, the fact still remains that he has no track record in Slams of being able to consistently win the long and drawn out matches against the top players deep in Slams. The only one he's won was against Nadal in last years US Open when Nadal was injured... and that was still 5 sets... and then he went on to be hammered by Federer in the final!

Speaking of which, do you seriously think that Federer and Nadal, were they both to play, are going to be so unprepared that they are going to lose in the opening rounds? I think not... and by the time they meet Murray... they'll be more than ready for him.

As for being British... well he might as well be Chinese for all the difference it makes to me... can't stand him.
