Kilworthfox Posted 21 June 2009 Posted 21 June 2009 It's more about these things for me. Personally I'd pay 40 quid a pop for something akin to Filbert Street, even if I had to sell my own grandma. Even if we got dicked on, I think very few walked away from a match there thinking about the price of the tickets. Most times I leave the Walkers, often even if we've put in a good win, I wonder if it was really worth the money for tickets and travel. An extra 4 quid certainly doesn't help that. Your spot on matey
tbf Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 I emailed the ticket office about student discounted tickets, this was their reply: Thank you for your email, there isn’t a Student Discount for tickets this year, there will be a Students Supporters Scheme that will be launched within the next few weeks, this will also incorporate a membership which will allow you to purchase tickets for selected games at a discounted price.
Guest Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 Lance Tomlyn, of the Independent Supporters Association said allowing fans to buy tickets for all home games would save on queues but raised concerns that fans will now "cherry-pick" their games. Like fans haven't done that before..... I can't understand why the club would do this. Tickets were cheaper when we were struggling financially Exactly. No, our problems were far more complex and deep than simply ticket pricing, they weren't particularly cheap back then anyway, now they're just ridiculous.Costs go up yes, but not drastically, 90% of costs going up at this club over the last 18 months have been due to Mandaric's dreadful management of finances and people. The club could easily manage without this price rise. If Mandaric has managed this club's finances so dreadfully, I would like to read more into this. Do you have a source? Surely 30,000 bums on seats at £23 is better than 22,000 at £27. I would guess that come the first game of the season, the attendance will be the same if prices were £23 as they will be with prices being £27. If you honestly think that a £4 reduction will fill the stadium, why didn't we do it before Leeds and S****horpe last season?
purpleronnie Posted 4 July 2009 Posted 4 July 2009 agree on that totally, its the all-american plastic experience, however the club could help to not alienate fans, for example, increasing prices whilst at the same time praising the fans for their loyalty and holding us to ransom over the ST renewal deadline. i just think its sad that the powers that be seemingly think so little of the fans that keep the club alive, and makes me a little bit angry too. You should try an MLS game, a lot less plastic than you might think.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 I think the increase was too low. Should have been far more. Stop moaning you winging misers.
