Darkzzz_ Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Jehst, you could be right regarding Juve although they lack any kind of pace up front. I hope they push Inter and I hope they go far in the CL.
Blue Foxes Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Chelsea, very much chelseas strongest 11 Chelsea team if anyones interested: Cech Bosingwa Alex Terry Cole Mikel Lampard Essien Malouda Anelka Drogba Still Reading 2-0 up
Edmund Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 Nice goal from Kalou. That was a lovely pass from Mikel.
Edmund Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 For all those who use betfair. There was a gubbing of £25,000 at 1.01 on the Reading - Chelsea match.
C-man Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 I didn't know you could bet on pre-season matches. Arsenal looked great in patches against Atletico. Jack Wilshere is some prospect.
weluv Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 burnley look up the shitter. Their first XI (Jensen, Alexander, Carlisle, Caldwell, Kalvenes, Ellliot, McCann, Mears, Eagles, Blake, Flether) played off the park by our second XI (Ankergren, Crowe, Kisnorbo, Marques, Parker, Hughes, Prutton, Howson, Johnson, Grella, Showunmi). 2-1 win for us and should have been more with Showunmi missing 2 sitters.
C-man Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 You'll storm it this year weluv, especially with Paddy K at the back.
weluv Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 i'm more confident now our defence looks a lot more solid. Last season we had a good start, but we were chopping & changing players so much we had no grit when things started to go wrong. Rui Marques is also looking a lot better, as for the first half of 07/08 he was the best defender in this division by a mile. Can't see us conceding many, even with Naylor out.
Darkzzz_ Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Beckham hit a world class free kick against Barca last night in a 2-1 defeat.
Ultra Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Good to see Arsenal stuff the huns.. But they'll find it a lot harder when the league season starts, especially with the number of trips they'll have to make up north.
Mikey Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Went Emirates Cup today, was a decent day out. Arsenal were a class above the other 3 teams. There were a number of quality players, but the ones that shone were: Sessegon (PSG) Cleber Santana (Madrid) Luis Perea (Madrid) Eduardo (Arsenal) Fabregas (Arsenal) Wilshere (Arsenal) Players such as Arshavin and Aguero were also good, but did not shine as much as those, you could see they had quality though. Whilst Rangers' team were poor, there fans were very good, we should take a leaf or two out of their book for sure . They had some awesome songs, that we could adapt. Awesome.

Mikey Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 I thought we already did.... What songs have we got from them?
Ultra Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Oooh, how's about "Hello, hello, we are the Leicester boys"? And "No surrender to the IRA" is regularly heard at home and away, usually from juveniles struggling to cope with a couple of shandies. I have a feeling "God Save The Queen" (the national anthem, not the Pistols Classic ) may also get an airing next week. But I don't think City fans have too many issues with the Pope or the Irish, so most of the rest of the songbook wouldn't be much use.

You answered yourself there, gets an airing every other away game, and occasionally in L1 by a bunch of 'juveniles'. What? God Save The Queen? Hardly a Rangers song is it now. And we sing it, what, every time we play a team from a different country. eg Cardiff and, for the first time Swansea, would hardly say we've adapted it as our song. I was more thinking along the lines of what they call The Bouncy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Huj0xJAxpLU Obviously much more ideal at away games. Would be more stolen than adapted though. Or this, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2WCc5wK3v0) replacing 'Glasgow Rangers Champions' with 'Leicester City Champions' or 'Can you hear the Leicester boys?' or 'Stand up for the champions,' etc. Or another one, 'Blue Sea of Ibrox,' (http://www.fanchants.com/football-songs/gl...sea-of-ibrox-2/) It's The Blue Blue Blue Sea Of Leicester, It's The Greatest Sight, That I Have Ever Seen, It's The Blue Blue Blue Sea Of Leicester, And It's Part Of Every Leicester Players Dream No More I'll Sail The Seven Seas, No More I'll Ever Roam, No More I'll Feel The Urge Again, I'm Back Where I Belong, At Three O'clock Each Saturday, I'll Join The Mighty Throng, With Flags And Banners All Around, I'll Proudly Sing This Song It's The Blue Blue Blue Sea Of Leicester, It's The Greatest Sight, That I Have Ever Seen, Its The Blue Blue Blue Sea Of Leicester, And It's Part Of Every Leicester Player's Dream. (Basically just changed Ibrox and Rangers to Leicester.) Obviously all 3 will be seen as 'copied' which they are really, all teams songs start off by copying someone, but instead of the ones you mentioned which rarely get heard at Leicester games bar the odd one or two times, these 3 would create a good atmosphere, and there not really long songs, 2 are basically tunes, so would be easy for the not so 'die-hard' Leicester fans to remember.
Guest Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Oooh, how's about "Hello, hello, we are the Leicester boys"? When the fook is that ever sung?
Darkzzz_ Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 When the fook is that ever sung? I only ever heard that once, at the Ricoh last year whilst on the way to the stadium (if that's what they call it). Never heard it at the walkers or anywhere else for that matter.

Never heard it at the walkers or anywhere else for that matter. It's my least favourite chant in the world, and when I hear it, I want to rip out my ears. I am glad that we, as a club, don't use it.
