Leicester City defender Bruno Berner is targeting a play-off place in the Championship this season.

The Foxes were promoted as champions of League One last season and Bruno wants the club to continue their momentum, though he admits it will be difficult.

"I want to see us in the top six as quickly as possible," Berner told BBC Radio Leicester.

"But there are big, big teams in the Championship and we will have to do very, very well to be up there."

The 31-year-old has set his sights on a strong start to the season, and believes that will be crucial to the Foxes' campaign.

"We just need to get it going," he added. "I think if we can have a good start, that's very important.

"There are 46 games to go and once again its a long, long season, but we are all confident and we just want to continue our work.

"I think we're heading in the right direction with Leicester City."

It's nice to read, It's nice to see the ambition within the camp, but it's the same thoughts from me, why don't they keep quiet, and do the talking on the pitch? If we are in a relegation battle come christmas the players (Not so much Pearson - As he remains quite grounded, keeping quiet and not getting involved in "Yeah we're looking for promotion this season, blah, blah, blah") will be being slagged off an no doubt these quotes will pop up and be laughed at.

I'm not slagging off Bruno here, just worried he'll come to regret the comments, and fear he is targets and building the team up abit much.

The media, in the absence of any real news love stating the obvious.

At least the squad have confidence and are optamistic, I just hope it shows on the pitch.

Agreed pal, outside sources are quietly backing us, its all about the positive start, without that big lump jason scotland up front for the swans i can't see them being a threat but we are quite shocking on the opening days of the season...bolton at home all those years ago...ohhhh dear!!

Its good to see a defender believe in the ability of atleast the defence, which we know is good, now we need a new striker to say i want 25 goals and hopefully that'll get us in the play-offs.
