For me, a fully fit Hargreaves is a better option than Carrick or Barry.

Midfield sorts itself really, just that one spot in the centre that needs sorting. You'd think that Aaron Lennon would be picked ahead of Walcott if he keeps up his form, would rather have him too personally.

Lennon - Lampard - Barry/Carrick/Hargreaves - Gerrard

Hargreaves hasnt played for a year and he still isnt doing full training - I just dont see how he is going to get back to the full fitness at the level Carrick or Barry will be at and also the form them two have been on in the last year, going to be very hard for Hargreaves get back to the level he was at a few seasons ago where he was one of the best.

I think Ledley King may get in the squad aswell over Lescott. Dont know why just have a feeling.

Agree that if he isn't fully fit he shouldn't go. All dependant on whether he can get himself playing and playing well for United. If he can he's a useful player to have hanging around, especially being versatile. Would rather have him as cover at right back than Gary Neville / Micah Richards.

Same with King as well. Streets ahead of Lescott in terms of ability, just a shame he's as good as crippled.

Long time for things to change anyway.

There's still 8 months to the world cup. Hargreaves has a chance if he can get back playing well, but Like Albert said at the minute, there's 4 ahead of him.

You'd think (Well, me) Capello would take:

3 Goalkeepers.

8 Defenders ( 4 full backs, 4 central defenders)

8 Midfielders ( 4 wingers, 4 central midfielders)

4 Strikers.

I don't see how anyone can be "included" at this stage.

Form can change, new players emerge, injuries happen and people can claim English citizenship which enables them to play for England in the months leading up to the world cup.

I'm sure Capello hasn't tattooed the list on his arse. It's just an idea of of who he might take if circumstances stay the same. He's probably only said this to motivate fringe players by letting them know they're in with shout.

Also, the chance of a newly naturalised player being included in the squad is fook all to nothing.
