davieG Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 From the Merc "England manager Stuart 'Psycho' Pearce is keen to bring in the City boss as an assistant if England qualify (and they should). Pearce's number two, Steve Wigley, who played under Brian Clough at Nottingham Forest, is looking to branch back into management." England under-21 manager Stuart Pearce would like to bring Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson back into the international fold. Pearce has been impressed with the job Pearson has done with City over the last 18 months. And he has admitted he would be interested in recruiting Pearson to his coaching staff for the European Under-21 Championships in two years time. Pearson became Pearce's assistant coach in February 2007, for the European Under-21 Championships, and had the honour of leading the side for the 3-3 friendly draw with Italy at Wembley because of Pearce's contractual obligations with Manchester City at the time. As a result, Pearson became the first Englishman to lead out a team at the new Wembley.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Fluck off Pearce Last thing we want is a manager with a conflict of interests, and his attentions diverted elsewhere
StanSP Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Pearce taking Nige's eyes off the clash on Saturday maybe?? Cynical thinking I know but just a thought.
C-man Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Pearce taking Nige's eyes off the clash on Saturday maybe?? Cynical thinking I know but just a thought. I don't think Pearce could give a shit. Besides, nothing could distract Pearson from this. Remember, he was born in Nottingham.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009  If anything, Pearce shoud be part of Niges coaching staff.
dandannieldanok Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 Why would anyone want that job, the managerial role of the U-21s isn't that attractive never mind the assistant role.
AjcW Posted 1 December 2009 Posted 1 December 2009 I think we are all missing the funniest part of this story....... ..... Stuart Wigley wants to get back into management.. :crylaugh: :giggle:
