Alan Johnson Posted 2 December 2009 Posted 2 December 2009 I'm disgusted to see no mention of The National Water Polo league on these forums. As an avid Croydon Amphibians fan I thought I would start a thread for all water polo related chatter. Current standings Division 2 : Points in bold : Sutton & Cheam 26 Polytechnic 22 Otter 20 Croydon Amphibians 14 City of Sheffield 14 City of Leeds 11 Birkenhead 5 Invicta Marlins 0 There are rumours circulating around at the moment that if we are successful in promotion this year we will be signing Division 1's joint top scorer Dan Laxton from the Welsh Wanderers. What a coup. Although we will face stiff competition from local rivals Sutton & Cheam. A.Johnson

I was watching some on Youtube and the goalie at the opposite end to the action had a look of relief and satisfaction on his face that could only mean one thing. He was wazzing for sure
Guest Posted 4 December 2009 Posted 4 December 2009 Your team is behind a polytechnic and an Otter Mr Johnson? The shame of it

If so, please can you identify yourself from the linked website here LINK. Joking aside, I tried my hand at this sport once when recuperating from knee surgery and it's actually a good laugh.
Alan Johnson Posted 7 December 2009 Author Posted 7 December 2009 Sly, I have a financial interest in the Croydon Amphibians. A Milan Mandaric of Croydon if you like. In other news the great London rivalry between the Penguin's and Polytechnic is just around the corner. PENGUIN FACE PLAY-OFF DECIDERPenguin's 28-year unbroken run in Division One of the National League is under threat after they lost to Portobello and Invicta at Lancaster (5/6 December) and finished the main competitive season in ninth place. It means they face a probable play-off at Loughborough University next Saturday (12 December) - intriguingly, against their great London rivals, Polytechnic, runners-up in Division Two. Portobello began the Lancaster weekend in ninth place, but their 15-11 defeat of Penguin, followed by a 19-6 win against bottom club Tyldesley, enabled the Scots to leapfrog Penguin, who also crashed 17-3 to Invicta. The Penguin-Polytechnic decider is scheduled for 4pm next Saturday, preceded by the Division 2/3 play-off between Birkenhead and University of Bristol (2.30). A.Johnson
