At his best then yes he probably is and of course he has youth on his side. Had to laugh at McGivens impression of Kissy on Saturday when giving away the free kick, bloke got past him and he started flailing his arms around in a pathetic attempt to grab at his shirt

Kisnorbo was a good player, he was injured and we had to sign other defenders to replace him while he was injured, and they were doing well so why keep him, when the defenders we had in were doing a good job! Gradel was a decent league 1 player, but he couldnt cross for shit! yes he was a live wire, but he was never going to be good enough for the championship. i wish him good luck at leeds, but we have nobby now, how can you judge him when he hasnt even kicked a ball for us yet! hes a naturally fit player, so he might be 35 but i bet he still has it! look at Gary Speed he was naturally fit, and was quality til he was late 30s! What a ridiculous thing to say

I do feel Mack has been treated a bit unfairly by some, there's certainly no need for name calling. Can't the mods just merge these threads together? Kisnorbo and Gradel were probably two of my fav players of recent times and it hurt to see Kisnorbo marshalling Rooney like he was a school boy. It's been obvious for a while that Gradel isn't in Pearson's plans so it's not a surprise that he's gone, but only time will tell how significant the transfer will be. Next season in the championship will be the true test for Gradel, I know that kisnorbo can handle that level but gradel has never shown proof. Even though Gradel has all the talent in the world, it's still a gamble for Grayson and Leeds.

Didn't see the spurs game. 2. Well I'd love them not to get promoted, I thought you counted chickens when you wanted something to happen...
Babylon Posted 25 January 2010 Posted 25 January 2010 Kisnorbo WAS a good player for us, but lets not forget that his good performances happened before Pearson arrived here. Kisnorbo was out with a string of injuries under Pearson, when he was fit enough to play his selection in the team always coincided with poor performances. Whether that was coincidence, bad luck or him being crap we'll never know. It's hardly surprising taking the above into account that Pearson decided not to renew his contract. Especially as at the time the prognosis on Tunchev was he'd be back this season. As for Gradel, yes the lad has potential but what has warranted the amount of love he gets. Dyer was twice the player he was for most of last year, I doubt we'd have this out pouring of grief if he was to leave!! We don't know if Pearson moved for Solano before the transfer request or after, so it's harsh to say we sold Gradel to get him in....we just don't know.

Kissa was half a good player. His commitment to the defensive cause was immense and no-one could fail to appreciate the countless last-ditch lunges he made to prevent near-certain goals. Nor should his goalscoring contribution be forgotten because many's the time he turned up on the far post or wherever to head a goal or at least go close. On the other hand his distribution was appalling. Times he'd stare at a a simple passing option, ignore it and try some hopeful 35 yard punt that was way beyond his capabilities in terms of accuracy. Why Kelly allowed him to take free-kicks is beyond me, but he did. He was just hit and hope. Did the pluses outweigh the minuses? Not to me. Retaining possession is paramount in modern football because it is so energy consuming trying to get it back.
