Team v.s Plymouth

Are we expecting the same team as Tuesday? We're creating some really good chances but not taking them. I just wanted to know your opinions on what you think the team will be.

This is my guess:

Weale

Morrison

Hobbs

Brown

Berner

Wellens

King

Gallagher

Oakley©

Dyer

Waghorn

I'd go with the same team as we created the chances but didn't take them, on another day we probably would have.

exactly. they've played the last two games and done very little wrong, there's no point changing this side just yet.

There are several changes I would like to make, (Morrison to center back for example) but I would not for one moment expect Pearson to concur.

One change that is crying out to be made is the return of Gallagher to the midfield three, ideally at the expense of Oakley.

Try it once, just to give the old boy a rest...

This allows Waghorn to move out to his best position, on the right and lets in Kermorgant or N'Guessan to play the central attacking role.

So;

---------------Weale----------------

Morrison--Hobbs--Brown--Berner

-----Gallagher--King--Wellens-----

---Waghorn--Kormagant--Dyer---

I've got few concerns about the team just now.

Such weaknesses as we have are not really changeable and I'm quite sure the recent line-up with additional involvement from N'Guessan/Kergormant/Adams is well capable of securing our play-off place barring a spate of injuries which would test us as it would anyone else.

Unlike S****horpe and Barnsley away, it is quite obvious we created enough chances to win at Bristol and that has been my main criticism.

The players just need to have the presence of mind, self-belief and good fortune to finish them more often and that will more likely come from fine-tuning the present system than making any radical changes.

There really is nothing and no-one for us to fear in this division so long as we don't let-up from closing the opposition down quickly and then working like terriers to raid the opposition box when we get possession.

Football is essentially so simple in its complexity. The trick is not knowing what to do but to keep the players in the right frame of mind to do it.

This, in Spades!

It is hard to see how a team can be in the right frame of mind to win games when the teams overriding concern is to close down the opposition and avoid defeat.

S****horpe rolled over and we had one of those games but against better organised and more determined teams we are simply not cutting it.

Having two midfielders sitting in front of the back 4 and two attacking wide men virtually operating as wingbacks is simply too cautious, our attacking options are then so limited that we will be very lucky indeed if we can sneak the 3 points as we did at Blackpool.
