Bedford Fox Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 With Palace being relegated to the championship where do you think AJ will be plying his trade next year????
C-man Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 Liverpool.Baros on his way to Everton. 109005 I agree with Dan, he'll probably go to liverpool, but where did you hear Baros is going to everton?
Bedford Fox Posted 15 May 2005 Author Posted 15 May 2005 Yer Milan Baros to Everton??? i havent heard that have you got a link or is this just a rumour you have !!!
Anish Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 Newcastle at a guess. They are always on the lookout for strikers
Sparky Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 i think benitez will look beyond aj . i think aj should be happy with finding a top half club ala bolton , charlton or man city
Bedford Fox Posted 15 May 2005 Author Posted 15 May 2005 Agree but i do think he could become a class player and would be a good player for any prem side! (apart from maybe the top 3)
Chandler Posted 15 May 2005 Posted 15 May 2005 Agree but i do think he could become a class player and would be a good player for any prem side! (apart from maybe the top 3) 109070 Johnson only scored 10 from open play (eleven from the spot). He's the biggest cheating bastard in the Prem. And next year the ref's will be on to him

And next year the ref's will be on to him 109140 Only? I'd consider 10 from open play, in a struggling side where he's played as a lone striker all season, to be pretty good. Penalties still have to be converted aswell, i remeber Dickov getting quite a few in the promotion season but no-one took anything away from him. He goes down easily a few times but he's no worse than Joe Cole in that respect.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 For once I'm agreeing with Chandler, I'm not Johnson's biggest fan.

Maybe goes down a little easily at times but not to the extent as to be called a big cheat and refs to pick up on it too much.
toonboy Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 I voted Newcastle only because there is a desperate need for a consistent striker. It seems as though Real are going to wait for arsenal or chelsea to offer £25 for Owen and of the players that have gone down he is probably the best. I would also like Papa Bouba Diop but i have no idea of the likeliness of this happening.

toonboy Posted 16 May 2005 Posted 16 May 2005 It needs to be a dirty cheating striker to replace Shearer not just play with him, so Johnson might fit the bill but it could well be along side Ameobi

TrickyTrev Posted 18 May 2005 Posted 18 May 2005 I think he will end up at Newcastle, it just makes sense for all parties. Newcastle need a young striker who they know can score in this division, Johnson needs Premierl League football if he wants to go to the World Cup and Newcastle are the kind of awfully wrong club that would offer Palace an inflated fee.
C-man Posted 18 May 2005 Posted 18 May 2005 He said today he wants to stay at palace and he said he wasnt a 'big-time charlie'. Good on him I say (He'll probably still leave though )
Chandler Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 Definitely the season's biggest over achiever. May prove to be a one season wonder at Prem level. But fair play to him. He has made the most of his limited abilities. He would be an example to say someone like Shola - who's probably the most talented uncapped player in the Prem. Does everything with effortless ease. No fu*king effort at all the lazy ****.
Guest Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 I had him in my Fantasy League team as he was scoring points, but it doesn't mean I rate him. As already said, he's quite adept at winning, then scoring penalties. It will be interesting to see where he ends up, and whether he can continure with this run of form.
Scow Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 We've seen one hit wonders before - Kevin Phillips and Marcus Stewart anyone?
TrickyTrev Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 We've seen one hit wonders before - Kevin Phillips and Marcus Stewart anyone? 112090 I agree, I have seen nothing in him to convince me he is a top class player but I still think Newcastle wil be stupid enough to offer big money for him. They are that kind of club. (BTW I am not saying he won't be a quality player, just that it is far from guarenteed and he still has a lot fo work to do)
MON Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 He's overrated. 11 of his 21 goals have come from penaltys have'nt they?
Cobbo Posted 20 May 2005 Posted 20 May 2005 He's overrated. 11 of his 21 goals have come from penaltys have'nt they? 112246 Virtually all of them were given for fouls on him though.

Even his wife admits that Andy goes down quicker than any player she knows.
