C.J Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 Beat this............... I actually forgot there was a game on. It was back in the days of filbert street, we were playing spurs. Cant remember what season though. First I knew of it was when I turned SSN on to see a reporter outside the ground after the game. Well, I was young.
Ultra Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 Missed the first 50 minutes of the Doncaster game this season due to work commitments. When we played Arsenal in 2000, I was stuck in a meeting (for which I was taking minutes) in central London and didn't arrive at Highbury until midway through the second half. I took my seat in the away end just in time to see Darren Eadie get sent off. Apparently it was the only incident of note in the entire game.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Actually, scrap my earlier post, the latest I've ever turned up to a match is 2:55pm... which is what it was vs Cardiff on Sat!
Cobbo Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Well, the Scow made it before kick off. And there was much rejoicing.
bhav09 Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Arrived at the game about 10 mins late, sorry to those who were sat in front in SK1! latest ever is 20 mins v Palace this season!
Jimbo Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 This wasn't actually at a game, but my Uncle was coming round my house to watch a certain match versus Derby on sky and he got to mine about 16 mins into the game and missed all 4 goals
Alexikokopops Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 I came late for the Chelsea cup game few years ago at Stamford Bridge, and I missed McAuley's goal. Same here. Also arrived late for the last game of the season vs Wolves a few years back. Missed Hume's goal and got the joy of watching them score 4 as we lost 4-1. Oh, and during our relegation season I don't think Fez and I made it to a game before kick-off. It was during his James Chambers love in, I always hope he would managed to score straight from kick-off one game just so he'd miss it. I have a feeling I was pretty tardy during our League One season too. I'm not very good at making it to games on time.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 The latest I ever got to a game was 25 minutes late when we played Wolves in 96 when we beat them 3-2. Me and another lad had been drinking in town all afternoon and were drunk. A lad who was working till 5 agreed to drive and was not best pleased at the state we were in when we met up with him They had a contraflow on the M6 and there were 3 miles to go to the services. Obviously another couple of cans in the car after about 6 pints plays havoc with the bladder so we both had to give in and get out on the M6 and go by the side of the motorway. As we were in the process the traffic started moving and the miserable **** driving drove off and left us stranded on the Motorway. We managed luckily to thumb a lift to a junction towards Wolverhampton, thumb another lift to a taxi rank and then a taxi to the game where the **** of a driver started making excuses as to how he just had to drive off and leave us because of the traffic behind. Still we won 3-2 and I was threatened with arrest by the lovely West Midlands police for giving willy puller signs to the Wolves fans in the exec boxes!! Happy days!!
thybluefox Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 Forest away this season, same escort as Matt by the sounds of it - fooking police. Although I wish they'd have done us a real favour and escorted us back to the train station.
Blue fox David Posted 15 March 2010 Posted 15 March 2010 I got stuck in traffic in Peterborough last season and arrived 10 mins into the game.
Scow Posted 15 March 2010 Author Posted 15 March 2010 Well, the Scow made it before kick off. And there was much rejoicing. Indeed there was. Shame there was no drinking. I aim to put that right tomorrow...
stoughtonfox Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 Arrived late for the Forest replayed game after drinking in the florists club over the road. It took me 10 mins before i realised the score was 1-0 to them , as missed our gifted goal from the kickoff.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 16 March 2010 Posted 16 March 2010 I can understand people who have to travel from fair distances to get to matches coming in late... but against Cardiff at the weekend, there were some Uni students that came in late... that just pisses me off. They live a stones throw away from the stadium and can't even get here on time, forcing people to have to get up and block the action for people sitting behind them. Not on.
