Matt Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 Couple of minutes at most. You missed the entire match because of a police escort? Forgot it was an early KO, you get the gist anyway, I was 5 minutes after the KO....Wish I had missed the whole match though.
Nick Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 While you were all enjoying the 4-0 thumping of Posh, I sat in Sainsburys petrol forecourt waiting for the recovery truck. I seem to remember me and Nick being stuck in the bar for some match this season and missing almost all of the game. Buggered if I remember which, far too pissed. I can't remember which game either but in the Weller some days beer and live TV I find rather compelling vs cold and rain........... I remember laughing a lot though!
Spiritwalker Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 40 mins V Charlton when they played at Selhurst Park Following a car which I thought was full of Leicester fans, half way round London.
Karljohn Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 Arrived 5 minutes before K.O for a midweek game at Filbert St against Boro and was subsequently locked out for the first 20 minutes until they decided to open SK2. 5 minutes late for Ipswich away in the league cup quarter final in 97, after setting off from London at 3pm for 7.45 k.o! lived in Streatham at the time and thought 4 hours would be plenty, those of you going to Palace on Tuesday will understand.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 Home, a few weeks ago vs Newcastle...43 minutes! Away..vs Barnsley on a Tuesday evening....10 minutes into halftime!! I missed Joachim score. I can't remember if it was a cup game but I'm certain that we played them away again on the following Saturday. It was when they had a new stand and there were thousands of us there!! Tomorrow..deffo gonna be late. Hoping no more than 30 minutes
lcfcadam Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 Home, a few weeks ago vs Newcastle...43 minutes! Seriously? Sure you've been told by now that you missed easily the best part of that match!
Craig Posted 12 March 2010 Posted 12 March 2010 3.05pm last year at Peterborough. Never been late at home before, always have to be there well in advance to soak up the atmosphere
The Doctor Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 3.05pm last year at Peterborough. Never been late at home before, always have to be there well in advance to soak up the atmosphere Sorry to nitpick but that match kicked off at noon.
Craig Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Sorry to nitpick but that match kicked off at noon. Ahhhh, bollocks. That serves me right for laughing out loud at Matt getting it wrong What i meant was that I missed the first five minutes
dandannieldanok Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 A couple of lads who were sitting next to us turned up on about 35 minutes for the Scunny game, they'd missed 4 goals.
Jiggers the Fox Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 10 minutes late for the S****horpe game at home this year, the one time we score in the first 5 minutes!!
shiv Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 it's not a home game, but villa away a few years ago... arrived 15 minutes late, walked in, saw the ball in the back of the net and said 3-0 on the scoreboard to villa haha
samjohnson Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 I know somebody that turned up 20 minutes late for that game at Derby in 97... he was gutted
Sparky Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Man City at home 1994/1995, it was a Sunday 4pm kick off on sky and i had a game for Oadby Town Juniors and rolled in about 42 mins. Niall Quinn had already scored for them and it was the only goal of the game
ta-fc Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Missed the first half hour once, stopped in the Turnstile (pub) to finish a jug of vodka and red-bull then watch the remainder of the first half on the telly below the stands with a couple of beers Made ten minutes of the second half before retiring to the peel for chaser.... Complete waste of the £25 ticket money and can't even remember the score (I'm not even certain it was Villa at home)... the got a bollocking off the old man who spent the entire match trying to call me thinking i'd got a kicking..... oh the joys of youth!!!!
CosbehFox Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 15 minutes into our first visit to Eastlands...missed Stewart's storm. Heard the noise approaching the ground, (I sat in the Man City end) my mate reckons Man City had scored....err no! 1-0. We are unbeaten there you know....
maddog Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Maybe 10-12 minutes late once. No more than that. And haven't arrived late to a game in the last 3 seasons at least.
Frenzied Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Today. Went to a beer festival last night. Woke up ridiculously late (slept through alarm). Missed train and wouldn't have got there until about 4.45pm. Needless to say, I'm more than a little pissed off. Edit to say: I think I might have broken the world record for amount of times a person can swear in the space of a hour.
philce Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 I came late for the Chelsea cup game few years ago at Stamford Bridge, and I missed McAuley's goal. We got in when it was 2-1, thanks to that pathetic excuse of a transport system they have! Stuck in a tube carriage full of Chelsea and cheering McAuley's goal was fun when they relised Leicester had scored!
jockkkk Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 45 minutes....I arrived at the Crystal Palace Cup match a year or 2 ago bang on half time and barely mad it in time to get a ticket. I was seeing my sister off at the station then decided to go along as the tickets were cheap.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 I think we're just too pissed the remember the start of the game most of the time. Only begin to sober up about thirty minutes in... Then only 15 minutes of sobriety before a 2 pint half time keeps us going till we get back in the pub after the game.
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 13 March 2010 Posted 13 March 2010 Missed the first 25 minutes and first goal in the 4-0 win over Norwich in 07/08 due to trying out a new shortcut. When I arrived at the train station, I realised there was a problem; then to make matters worse, I walked the long way around Victoria Park My local knowledge of Leicester has vastly improved since.
PAULCFC Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 Chelsea away in the cup (dodgy underground) 10 mins and Srewsbury in a friendly at the start of this season.........drove straight past the ground, but thought we'd go into Shrewsbury Wetherspoons for dinner.Got in the car and followed a shrews fan with all the shrews stickers on the back......Ended up at an old peoples home!Managed to find the ground 20 mins in and missed Howards opener.
surrifox Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 west ham in the 70s we were 2-0 up and lost something like 4-2 - I got there with 25 minutes left - there was a problem with the tubes
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 14 March 2010 Posted 14 March 2010 i've managed to arrive an entire match late on a couple of occasions
