Edmund Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Anyone watching Audley Harrison tonight? He's fighting Michael Sprott for the vacant European title. Should be a good'un.
lildave3 Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010  Did I genuinely just read 'Audley Harrison' and 'Good'un' in the same sentence?! The guy is a tool. A shit tool who should just retire.
BoneDog Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 I'm watching. Hopefully Sprott wins by a knockout. Not sure who else is on yet. I miss Danny Williams, wish he was fighting for this tonight. I heard today that Haye is only having two more fights before he retires! Not really happy with that news, he's only about 30 and I can't see why he's made this decision. Is he unsure about whether he can cope in the Heavyweight division or something?
Edmund Posted 9 April 2010 Author Posted 9 April 2010 Harrison still has a lot to prove and he's supposedly back to his best. Like you say he's not getting any younger so it's all or nothing. Will be a cracking fight to watch.
Edmund Posted 9 April 2010 Author Posted 9 April 2010 I'm watching. Hopefully Sprott wins by a knockout. Not sure who else is on yet. European Heavyweight Title Audley Harrison v Michael Sprott European Middleweight title Darren Barker v Affif Belghecham I think it's just these two.

Likewise, couldn't believe it when he said that. Said he was going to retire at 31 and have 4 more fights or so. I suppose he just wants to go out in his prime instead of fade away like so many heavyweights do.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Doesn't seem like ten years since he won gold absolutely flew by, Oh well last chance, take 7.

Think its the fact he's got a kid, he missus is pregnant with their 2nd, He's made/making his money and will be happy to retire hopefully at the top.

As others have said he'll want to finish on a high rather than dwindle away. He could end up like Audley Harrison so I can fully understand his thinking.
Daggers Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 This is feeble - no matter how much Sky try to convince people otherwise.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Setting him up for a big right hook at the end of the twelfth.
Daggers Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Setting him up for a big right hook at the end of the twelfth. Trying to bore him to sleep with his slow, lumbering jabs?
Daggers Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 This thread needs to become: "Alternative careers for Audrey, because boxing isn't it"
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Holy Sh1t ! Did not I repeat Did not,see that coming!

I know that it's good to retire at the top but this is way too soon in my opinion. 31 years old. Only just starting off in the Heavyweight division and has a world title. It really doesn't make sense. At 33 or 34 I could maybe understand the decision. Can't see anyone thinking of Haye like they do Audley cos Audley's always been pretty disappointing but Haye has always delivered.
Edmund Posted 9 April 2010 Author Posted 9 April 2010 That came out of know where and what a hit. :w00t: There's no doubt that Sprott had that in the bag. Audleys career was over before that knockout. He still doesn't stand a chance against Haye if that ever materialised. I was just going to say that it looked like he had an injury, just said that his right shoulder locked up.
BoneDog Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Can't wait for Froch Kessler tomorrow! Should be as good as it gets.

Yes it was a big, big shot ! Fair play to Audley but I'm frickin gutted. I really hope that a fight against Haye doesn't come around. Would be a total waste of time I think.
