iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 30 April 2010 Posted 30 April 2010 Mayweather. He will become a legend of the sport.
BoneDog Posted 30 April 2010 Posted 30 April 2010 Mayweather. He will become a legend of the sport. He's already a legend to some people, just not as big a legend as he thinks he is! The other day when he was saying he's better than Sugar Ray Robinson, Mohammad Ali etc. I couldn't tell if he really thinks it or if it's just his proud and bragging personality spouting off.

He's good but knows it. To become the best he has to beat Pacquiao. However that still won't match Ali's achievements because there was more competition in that weight class at the time.
Edmund Posted 1 May 2010 Author Posted 1 May 2010 I see the Mayweather fight isn't on box office but the programme doesn't start until 3!! Probably wont be on till about half 4.
Matt Posted 1 May 2010 Posted 1 May 2010 I see the Mayweather fight isn't on box office but the programme doesn't start until 3!! Probably wont be on till about half 4. Hmmm I wanna watch this but don't fancy staying up till 4 or 5am then getting up at 9 - 10am back on the beer then to the game, then its my mate birthday so we're going out tomorrow night...well I do fancy it but simply wouldn't last that long and be fooked come going back to work on Tuesday, I think it's a case of Sky+ and trying to dodge the result.
BoneDog Posted 1 May 2010 Posted 1 May 2010 It says on Sky that the programme starts at 2 now. So I'm hoping for the main event to start around 4am It will more likely be frickin later though. Made sure I stayed in bed til about 11 this morning so I can manage a late one. I've already got the pre-fight nerves. Come on Shane, thump him in the face.
BoneDog Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Just ate a massive Cottage Pie covered in HP sauce and now listening to some Freddie Foxxx to get psyched up. Anybody know anything about these injections Mayweather has in his hands before fights? I've read that they are illegal in boxing but the state of Nevada is the only place that allows them.
BoneDog Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Some great action so far! Alvarez looks like an excellent prospect. He came through a bit of a battering in the first round and did a great job. Solid and very skillful. Can't believe he's had 33 pro fights and he's only 19.
BoneDog Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 This is a joke. Mosley been in the ring for at least 5 minutes now Hooray! Very quick entrance once he got going, no messin!
BoneDog Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Bit gutted cos bar a miracle Shane has lost this. But you got to take your hat off to Mayweather, he's been very impressive yet again.
BoneDog Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Love the respect! I thought Shane was gonna do him for a minute in the 2nd round! Respect to Mayweather, he was class.
Matt Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Set the alarm for 4.30am as a guess...perfect timing turned the tv on and they were a couple of seconds into the 1st round, was half asleep during the whole fight but I did see it. Was power punches from both, surprised either didn't actually go down but I how I expected the fight to go really. Well done Mayweather. Mayweather v Pacquiao now? Please?

Like you I thought he was going to get battered after the first round. How the feck he's already had 33 fights I'll never know. Going to have to watch the Mayweather replay later.
Leicfox Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Bar the 2nd round, Mosley got schooled. Mayweather v Pacquiao. I hope they make it happen, and the Pacquiao camp agree to the tests.
Samilktray Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Think its time for Pacman to prove himself against The Money now.

How the feck he's already had 33 fights I'll never know. Going to have to watch the Mayweather replay later. Alvarez turned pro at 15, I didn't even know you could do that. 33 fights in 4 years, that's more than some men have in their whole career! He's already got bags of experience and looks very strong and skillful. Looks like he's destined to have a glorious career. The Mayweather fight was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as I should have cos I wanted Mosley to win.
Edmund Posted 2 May 2010 Author Posted 2 May 2010 I'm still yet to watch the replay. I'm guessing Alvarez beat Cotto in the end?
BoneDog Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Ooops, thought you knew the result! If you don't want to know don't read the next line. Yeah Alvarez won in round 9 I think it was, the ref stopped it. It was a tough fight for both of them and very entertaining I thought.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Great fight. How Mayweather stayed up I don't know. Mosley was brilliant but Mayweather is the king. Mayweather calling out Pacman. I think Pacquiao has to prove he can fight the best. I can't see him beating Mayweather though.

I already knew the outcome of the Mayweather fight as I couldn't avoid it this morning and I had a good idea that Alvarez won after I read your post so no worries
BoneDog Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 What do folks think about this blood test stuff that Mayweather is insisting on? I personally see no need for it and can't understand what's going on. It's only Mayweather who does this I think. Pacquiao has said that he will have a blood test straight after the fight and I can't see what the problem is with that. Surely there is no drug out there that would disappear after 1 round or 12 rounds of boxing (or however long the fight takes). If Pacquiao was on something then surely it would still be detectable right after the fight I personally don't trust the testing process 100%. We all know how corrupt big money sport is, including boxing, cricket, football, tennis etc. I'm not saying that Mayweather is involved in anything dodgy (and wouldn't really care even if he was as long as we see Mayweather Pacquiao!) but I can't get my head round why he insists on this test cos I'm sure it's not the norm. (and drug tests are done on boxers anyway aren't they after fights?) I'm only bothered about this because it seems like this could actually stop the fight happening and I can't see why a blood test after the fight is not acceptable.
Ozwin Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 It's just Mayweather being a wimp, his attitude stinks. To be the best you've got to fight the best and frankly, he doesn't appear to dare to do that.

Dont be daft Pacquiao is the 1 who has to prove he can fight the best, Mayweathers been doing it for years and has the belts to show for it.
