AoWW Posted 2 June 2010 Posted 2 June 2010 Several have been killed and injured by a gunman who's gone on the rampage in Cumbria. Police are hunting the man. Linkage
Fosse Boy Posted 2 June 2010 Posted 2 June 2010 Fucking hell. Hope they stop him before he strikes again.
AoWW Posted 2 June 2010 Author Posted 2 June 2010 Sounds like he's done himself in. Yeah, seems they've found his body and a firearm. RIP to all the victims and condolences to their families. To be honest, though, it's fortunate there weren't more fatalities - there could so easily have been more. Makes you wonder what causes someone to do something like this.
AoWW Posted 2 June 2010 Author Posted 2 June 2010 Reports now that 12 are dead, 25 injured - 3 in a critical condition.
jonthefox Posted 2 June 2010 Posted 2 June 2010 Reports now that 12 are dead, 25 injured - 3 in a critical condition. its getting just as bad as the states if you ask me.
purpleronnie Posted 2 June 2010 Posted 2 June 2010 its getting just as bad as the states if you ask me. Not quite, we have no way near the amount of gun related murders per person that the US has, and I think we're all thankful for that. I'm just glad we gave some of the strictest gun laws in the world, imagine what it would be like if everyone in britain was armed. To all those concerned RIP.
AoWW Posted 2 June 2010 Author Posted 2 June 2010 Speculation that a row over a family will may have been the catalyst
FoxyPV Posted 2 June 2010 Posted 2 June 2010 The whole thing is fooking nuts - Sympathies to all affected.

lou Posted 3 June 2010 Posted 3 June 2010 Stayed in Coniston last October, lovely place, nice people. Tragic
Alexikokopops Posted 3 June 2010 Posted 3 June 2010 its getting just as bad as the states if you ask me. There have been just three major firearm related crimes in the UK (excluding the Troubles) that I can think of (the Hungerford Massacre, the Dunblane school shooting and this one), and just 0.3% of crimes involve a firearm. Is it really getting just as bad as the States?
BoneDog Posted 3 June 2010 Posted 3 June 2010 This is a shocking and sad story. I've only just caught up on it on the news. Something must of happened to that guy all of a sudden to make him crack cos it seems that he was well liked by folk in the area who had known him for years.
Narborough_fox Posted 3 June 2010 Posted 3 June 2010 Shocking, condolences to all involved! News reports say he was either having a feud with his family over a will or a feud with the Police. Once again R.I.P to all 12 and condolences to the family!
