BoneDog Posted 20 June 2010 Posted 20 June 2010 lol lol And no, I don't give a fuck that Wales aren't in it. Wales would have been more entertaining to watch from what I've seen of us so far!
dandannieldanok Posted 20 June 2010 Posted 20 June 2010 When youve got that prat trying step overs, somethings quite clearly not right. Emile. No wonder we're struggling with him leading the line. Unbelievable isn't it, but hey who cares about us scoring goals!
sdb Posted 20 June 2010 Posted 20 June 2010 we scored a record breaking amount of goals in qualifying with Heskey. obviously the players wanna play 4-5-1, fair enough, but that is NO excuse for fridays performance. Obviously Heskey will be the scapegoat (and yes he was poor on fri), but he's been far better in this world cup than Lampard, Lennon, Milner, Carragher and Wayne The Saviour Rooney! My take on why we were so shit (aside from lacking commitment and desire): the centre backs are too slow, so defended really deep. we never put Algeria on the back foot as a result. the midfielder's couldn't/wouldn't break forward because they'd leave huge gaps (and Algeria defended well), and the strikers were completely isolated (and crap). The midfielders never broke ahead of the front two that is criminal. Cole and Johnson have been more of a threat. Most of the XI are also more accustomed to playing 451 now. However none of the above can excuse Friday. Numbers 1 to 11 were crap, although some will get off lighter than others, as always.
