themotivator Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 A bit blatant I know, but most fans don't seem to be happy with Oakley as captain and after his performances last season surely Jack deserves the armband.
RoyFox Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I utterly concur!!! What has Oakley ever really given us?
Guest NGoloMode Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I utterly concur!!! What has Oakley ever really given us? Captained the side that got us out of League 1?
themotivator Posted 29 August 2010 Author Posted 29 August 2010 Captained the side that got us out of League 1? Don't you think we are in a slightly different position now.
RoyFox Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Exactly getting promoted from League 1 is a no comparision to the standard of the Championship. Besides Oakley was allowed a lot more space then and now he's 2 years older and even less mobile. Wake up...
DanTheFox07 Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 what and changing the captain`s armband will get us result`s? get a grip!
Asha Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Well it would cheer Jack up a bit. He's had a completely miserable start to the season.
DanTheFox07 Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I love hobbsy but giving him the captain`s armband in this side at the moment is not the right move in my opinion!
JCWfox Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Hobbs seems to be struggling enough at the moment without the added pressure of captaincy!
themotivator Posted 29 August 2010 Author Posted 29 August 2010 All I am saying is that Jack is the sort of player we can really be proud of. Its safe to say that everybody would love him to stay here for years and develop into the class defender he has to potential to be. He proved last season that he has the bottle.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 oakley dosent seem to do a lot of talking / organising on the pitch, but to make jack hobbs captain at such a young age like other people have said is alot more added pressure than he aready has, wellens to me seems like a more sensible choice, he runs the midfeild, talks alot on the pitch and organises the team, has experience, shows lots of passion and is the general motor of the team, bursting forward and helping back in defence, oakley doesnt look like a leader and has no influence on the game / doesnt set an example to the younger players in the team however taking the armband away from him is uneccesary and wil dent his confidence big time
Guest NGoloMode Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Don't you think we are in a slightly different position now. I think Hobbs should be captain.. I was just answering the question.
themotivator Posted 29 August 2010 Author Posted 29 August 2010 I think Hobbs should be captain.. I was just answering the question. It was a fair point. Mr. Motivator meant no negative vibes.
Swalker Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 wellens or howard should be the captain as they show heart and are experienced
sdb Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Hobbs Captain, not because i'm anti Oakley, but because he's a sure starter and someone we need to keep at this club.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 Hobbs Captain, not because i'm anti Oakley, but because he's a sure starter and someone we need to keep at this club. Sorry, but Hobbs as Captain! No way. He has had a terrible start to the season. If I were manager he would be in the reserves. CosbehFox Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 I don't think Hobbs is suited to the role. It's quite clear that he's struggled without a commanding influence alongside him. I'd be struggling to suggest anyone.
dandannieldanok Posted 29 August 2010 Posted 29 August 2010 The captaincy, in my personal opinion, is a burden so I don't buy into the whole 'who deserves it' argument. Once Weale gets back into the team, I'd give it to him, might help with his communication. To be honest, is it really important? The best teams in the world are Barcelona and Spain and if you asked me who captained them I'd just have to give an educated guess.
