Interesting Paulo Sousa Interview

Recommended Posts

Posted

Paulo Sousa speaks about his upbringing, how his passion for football developed and his early career as a professional...

“I started with Rui and Fernando Couto and we left Portugal to play for important Italian clubs. Our success in the national team opened a big door for Portuguese players. After that, Luis Figo and other players started being approached by important clubs because we’d become interesting players, not only for our quality but in terms of the market.

“I think it was very important for me and all of my generation to win the Under 20’s World Cup because it opened the door to playing at a professional level straight away and that’s the most difficult part for a professional football player. In most cases the breach between youth and professional is too big and sometimes you lose young players with a lot of quality because you don’t create room for them."

For the whole interview visit...

Sousa should be talking about how to sort out the problems within the team instead of his past. This shows that he is not concentrating enough of our team affairs to be honest.

WTF? He was doing an interview with a magazine, they asked him about his past and you expect him to say 'I wont talk about my past as my brain can only cope with Coventry away".

I always knew that i had a lot of respect on here, 'Thanks'

Well it was a bit of a foolish statement. The 2nd half of the interview is mainly on Leicester I believe and Interviews are part and parcel of being a football Manager, whether you're winning games or not!

Shouldn't you be concentrating on your education rather than posting on here?tongue.png

If i was him I would personally say to them that sorry but 'got a big game tomorrow which i need my team to win as my job would be really under threat'.

I expect you and others who think they know it all to have a go at me for saying this but everyone is entitled to their own opinions on here.

I did tell you about three weeks ago that i would be willing to leave this site if the rudeness i get from others continues. My education is fine by the way. How rude of you to say that really considering you are one of the moderators.

If he did that though he'd get criticism for not doing the interview, doing interviews with local publications like this is all part of him settling into the job and the area. I doubt it took more than 20/30 minutes, he's had 2 weeks to prepare for sodding Coventry.

Is that a promise??

haha only joking! Chill outttttttttttt. On forums, people post their opinions, and by doing so, have to allow for people to disagree. Sometimes, we don't always do it the proper, polite manner but come onnnnnnn, it's only a bit of fun!!

You won't last long if you are this sensitive!!

What's rude about it, you where questioning the priorities of Sousa I was questioning yours. When you post on a public forum criticising someone you must be prepared to prove the validity of your post.

I simply asked you a related light hearteed question.

What a load of bob, paulo sousa is a human, humans believe it or not can talk about a wide range of topics at any given time, so if someone asks paulo about his early days he can happily answer. Unbelievable isn't it!? This does not mean he doesn't care about tomorrows game so get a life mate

I do feel people are at times unwelcoming on this forum, but I think you're fighting a losing battle on this particular thread because what you said was a little silly.

You'll tend to find that saying something stupid and being slating isn't just a FoxesTalk thing.

You'll learn the game of internet forums - that post was from a 'sub-fiftier' who is just going along with the majority until he has enough posts to have a valid opinion.

for your information, i havn't read any of the other posts, i saw that post and felt compelled to comment but from your post i assume other people are taking my stance, remarkable

And you wouldn't believe how many sleepless nights i've had being a "sub fiftier"

I was actually trying to make the guy getting slated feel a bit more at home through (attempted) humour, because I thought some people were taking it a bit too far .
