im going to be the voice of reason here we need to keep fryatt stop aiming so high and work on getting a good run of games going. by all means spend big but stop setting your sights so high else we will end up as the championships man city e.g we will have a team full of superstars who cant perform on the day

If you aim low, your never going to get anywhere. Aim high and see what it gets us.

Before Thracian gets here i will say it for him: "Set your boundaries and that is what they become."

Matty Fryatt is not going to take us to the Premiership.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. I'd say Mardy Fryatt won't be playing for us again. He's off to the Slumberside.

To get to the Prem we need, among other things, to score more goals. Fryatt has proven that, when played consistently in a formation that suits him, he can score well at this level. On the other hand, we have just brought in two "goalscorers" who are supposedly better than Fryatt. They've been given a number of games and scored a total of one between them, and haven't looked likely to better that rate. (Incidentally, I thought the forwards who started at Ipswich were a disgrace - they didn't try very hard, didn't show the movement required to offer passing opportunities from midfield, and didn't come back to help the midfield to win the ball. Yet Fratt is continually pilloried for lack of effort.).

No amount of reasoned comment makes any difference though - he's clearly not going to be given the chance, either by Sven or the doubters on here.

Enjoyed reading that, you make some very valid and interesting points. The influence a good chairman can have on a club is rarely talked about and really it should be looked at more.

I think Dein maybe way out of our league but the exciting thing is that with Sven and the financial backing we have now i don't actually think it's completely unimaginable.

Sven is the key, if we can keep him happy then, well the sky's the limit. :scarf:
