Carew's not in the Villa squad for tonights match with Sunderland. Could a deal with City be on?!
mmarkie Posted 5 January 2011 Posted 5 January 2011 Carew's not in the Villa squad for tonights match with Sunderland. Could a deal with City be on?! More likely because he's signing for West Brom?
bigneville Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 John Carew will not be leaving Aston Villa in the next 2 weeks for sure. After Emile Heskey's suspension for 3 games, Carew is now required in the squad. He will be available again when Heskey returns but not before. West Brom are the leading party in the race but wages are the stumbling block. Aston Villa require around half of his £52,000 a week wages to be paid by the club aquiring his services. Something West Brom aren't keen to do. But until Heskey returns from suspension. No one will loan John Carew.
ajthefox Posted 6 January 2011 Posted 6 January 2011 He would be an absolute beast inthe champ. not happening in a million years though. ambition is great but we need to be realistic.
cc_star Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 Villa have confirmed they are in talks with West Brom
bigneville Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 I've spoken with a couple of people and the deal between West Brom & Aston Villa is all in place. It's now with Aston Villa to confirm the deal. This will depend on options available to Villa for other players. Although this would already be done if Emile Heskey hadn't received a red card. If Villa feel they can cope without Heskey & Carew then this will be done shortly.
MikeyT Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 John Carew's potential departure from Aston Villa has been blocked due to Emile Heskey's forthcoming suspension, skysports.com understands
bigneville Posted 7 January 2011 Posted 7 January 2011 I've discovered that John Carew was booked in for a medical today at West Brom but this was cancelled upon Aston Villa's request.
