Southern Fox Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Driving home from game today and listening to talksport and it listed a few players we have been linked with of late. One of which was John Carew I havent heard of that one but is very interesting Owen, Beckham etc were also mentioned granted
Southern Fox Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 No he wasn't. Er yes he was? I think it was Danny Kelly who was covering for Collymore. They went to the guy that watched the Leicester game for them. He said we slightly shaded the game but if Sinclair would have scored that 2nd half chance 2-2 would have been pretty fair. They then discussed the transfer window and Svens contacts and Carew got mentioned
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 No he wasn't. Listened to it on the way home from work so I know what you're talking about, but he wasn't.
Southern Fox Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 YES HE WAS I barely post on here - he was 100% mentioned There is no value in my saying What time did you listen then?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 Must've been between six and quarter past.
Southern Fox Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 I heard him mentioned. Thanks mate I barely post on here for this reason. Im 32 and an oldie . I heard it on the radio and discussed with my dad in the car and thought I would share it with you lot Then you get someone say - no he wasnt So annoying - makes you feel like why bother
Southern Fox Posted 3 January 2011 Author Posted 3 January 2011 Must've been between six and quarter past. I think you must have heard a different report mate - not lying
woznotwos Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 ! i agree with you , he said '' going to the john for a poo! '' , im sure of it
haraven Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 He will definately leave Villa in the january transfer window, but I have some "inside" info on him; - he might opt to play for a german club and be one of the few that has then played in all major European football leagues - he wants to continue to live in London if no German club comes in for him I doubt he is interested in a Championship club, but with the lure of Sven you'd never know - but I doubt it. Terrific striker when in shape. (A friend of mine is close friend to relatives of John;)). They had some pretty funny stories about nightlife in Birmingham with Villa players after their last visit.
muzzy1981 Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 He's another one of those inbetweeners we have been linked with, in that he's not ready to drop a league but is nearing the end of his prem days. Think Falz admitted it recently that its difficult persuading players to drop a league, whereas if we went up it would open the market up to all sorts of weird and wonderful possibilities. Think Carew will join the, Owen, Beckham, Keane, Dunne, Santa Cruz, Heskey gang. Would love to be proven wrong and get one of these in, big task ahead for Sven. He could always offer to Lapdance for them!!
TAFT95 Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 Leicester City plan ambitious Carew swoop 11:00 AM 04 January, 2011 Fans FC understand Leicester City Football Club are planning an adventurous swoop for John Carew. The 31-year-old is heading towards the end of his contract at Aston Villa, who are hoping to offload him in January rather than lose him for nothing in the summer. A return to Turkish club Besiktas has been mooted over the past couple of months, but Sven Goran Eriksson is hoping to persuade the Norwegian to stay in England. The former Manchester City coach is currently in charge of Leicester, where he is slowly going about building a side capable of securing promotion to the Premier League this season. Eriksson hopes to land Carew for a knockdown price this month and will offer him a two-and-a-half year deal, with a non-promotion release clause for this summer.

themotivator Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 just been on fansfc.com and im not sure i would trust anything they put on that ropey old site.
Jon the Hat Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 Blimey, thats a bit ambitious. It being the get out of Jail free card for the player who is unwilling to commit to more than 5 months outside the top flight.
sdb Posted 4 January 2011 Posted 4 January 2011 A good player yes but motivation and work-rate can be very suspect. Could be great, could be another Bednar. (p.s. i called Carew months ago, woo!)
