Wymsey Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 I've heard good reports about THE BRUNSWICK.Not far from Derby train station.Any info on this pub anyone ? Been there once. Prices not bad and atmosphere was good. Plus only a few mins walk from the stadium.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 Getting an earlyish train so Im gonna need a couple of pubs. May start here then.
Fosse Boy Posted 1 February 2011 Posted 1 February 2011 the navigation is the place to go That the place they stopped serving in last year? We ended up drinking tinnies by the train tracks.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 they stopped serving for a few mins then continued again. i think the reason was that some of us lot tore down their derby flags
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 lcfcstu's right. The Navigation's the place to be for atmosphere. Not too far from the ground either. The Brunswick is a top quality pub though. Got a micro-brewery if it's the one I'm thinking of.
STEVIE B Posted 2 February 2011 Author Posted 2 February 2011 I'm taking my son and his friend, would THE BRUNSWICK allow kids ?
phillthefox Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 also getting early train and spending day in pubs but wont be in colors so should get in anywhere. brunswick and friary are best places i know from previous
1964FOX Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 they stopped serving for a few mins then continued again. i think the reason was that some of us lot tore down their derby flags Correct, they especially didn't like the removal of the big one above the pool table. But that was not as funny as the bloke who ran in and sang Derby songs at the top of his voice. I'm taking my son and his friend, would THE BRUNSWICK allow kids ? Yes my lad was 12 last year when we took him in.
Martin Hendo for god. Posted 2 February 2011 Posted 2 February 2011 lcfcstu's right. The Navigation's the place to be for atmosphere. Not too far from the ground either. Also try the Alexandra which is 100 yards further up the road. Between the two you will get 15 or more decent beers. Derby away is always one of the best days out for a pint and both pubs are outside the train station.

They also do a nice slice of Huntsman's Pie.
