Haydos Posted 7 February 2011 Author Posted 7 February 2011 Our season will be defined by the away games at QPR, Cardiff and Forest. We can't afford to lose any of these. Disagree. Our points tally so far in 2011 has meant we can afford a poor result here and there. Similarly if these are the only remaining games we were to lose then it'll still be great.
Stevosevic Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 This time last year we had 47 points, if we win on Saturday we will have 48 points, the same total as after 31 games last year. Interesting.
samjohnson Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 It's a tighter league this year... Really unpredictable... Who expected QPR and Norwich to be contending for promotion at the beginning of the season?? It will take a hell of a lot more effort than last season to reach the play-offs

Corky Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 All we can do is keep winning. I've written off our chances of reaching the play-offs before this season, primarily down to the away form, but we seem to have sorted that out somewhat. You never know.
Legend_in_blue Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 I have to disagree with those people who are disagreeing with me. QPR, Forest and Cardiff away are hugely important games not to lose. In terms of points gained or lost, I agree we can afford to lose these games. However, it's not about the points where these teams are concerned, it's about being mentally up for it and showing that we are the better side. There would be nothing worse than losing to these teams and then possibly facing one or more of them in a championship playoff having received a hiding from them in the league. Mentally, they will have an advantage and will gain confidence from this. We beat Cardiff at home and Forest at home, we take it to them away from home. Mentally we come out stronger should we get something from these games. QPR away is all about evening the score since they did us over at home by ruining the game.

Very true, I doubt theres one person on this forum who would disagree with saying we'd have beaten blackpool at wembley

milsey Posted 7 February 2011 Posted 7 February 2011 wernt sunderland bottom at xmas a few year back and then keane took over and won the league with them that same season??!!! we'll finish 2nd to QPR although i do think we'll beat QPR when we play them next. We're a team on the up with confidence at an all time high. Even if we did pick up a loss in the next few weeks i reckon we'd bounce straight back. We were bottom a few months ago and now look at us,we're flying!!
