teblin Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 I thought he started the game well. Was involved in the goal (came from his cross). Seen him have a lot worse game, Kings was the one in midfield that we carried. Wellens is always trying to create which is why he give the ball away more that others.
artursteppe Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Apologies to those who have read all this before on my posts throughout the season, but here it is again! Against poorer sides who want to battle against us we cannot afford to play Wellens, King and Gallagher with two other strikers. They are all too girly when the 'chips are down' - they couldn't win the ball off my mother who is 80 years old, and suffering from arthritis. It leaves too much pressure on Matt Oakley or Yuki Abe and the back four, and too often we fail to get the points we should. Many people seem to like Wellens, King and Gallagher, but now I will disclose the truth. It is said that when Wellens plays well, Leicester play well - wrong way round - when Leicester play well, Wellens ( and King and Gallagher ) play well. The last two matches prove the point:- They all starred on Saturday once we were already 2-0 up against Burnley - thanks largely to Kamara. They are always good, even the best players in the team, when we are already winning against teams who are prepared to try playing football against us. BUT they are all useless when we have to battle, yes that includes Wellens, just because he is ugly does not many he isn't as big a 'daisy' as King and Gallagher, because he is. We all know what happened against Palace on Tuesday - Gallagher substituted and by popular vote Wellens and King were our two worst players ( the only competitor for that accolade was the goalkeeper, nothing unusual about that ). The sad thing is, this has been the situation all season. We cannot afford to have three 'fairweather' players in the same team and expect to beat sides who are up for a battle. My team for Reading:- Ricardo or Smith Vitor Bamba Mee Burner Naughton Abe Oakley Gallagher Vassel Yukubu

My team for Reading:- Ricardo or Smith Vitor Bamba Mee Burner Naughton Abe Oakley Gallagher Vassel Yukubu I totally agree with the formation, however, I would opt for Kamara instead of the Yak, as for Ricardo, better goalkeeper (if he picks up) then Weale, however, he puts a negative morale on the team as the team do not seem to be confident in him, whoever is in goal, will always be disputed until we find a replacement, and a serious one, not the likes of Kirkland () i would like to see Vassel behind kamara though and play more of a 4-4-1-1 as i think Vassel would do better then his RW role at the moment, this would hopefully influence wing backs and LM/RM to move forward, which will definately be a + with Naughton in that position.
ACE Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Actually, Ricardo/Weale Vitor Bamba Mee Van Aaanholt Naughton Abe Wellens Gallagher Vassel Kamara
okie fox Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Admittedly, Wellens had an off day, but at least he was visible, wanted the ball, tried to create, and made some good passes as well as the few bad ones that stick in people's minds. He contributed more than Yakubu, Kamara and King.
Kierzz Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Even thought Oakley did have a good game last night. I think Abe compliments King and Wellens better so they play better when Abe is on the pitch Hence why especially King has been playing crap recently And you could see last night he wasn't given the freedom to push forward as much because Oakley doesn't play as deep as Abe and can't handle players running at him. And as all footballers say, football is a universal language so I don't think the main reason why Abe should be dropped is the language barrier
Haydos Posted 13 April 2011 Posted 13 April 2011 Off-day. What's the point in this thread? He's been one of our best players this season.... Ricardo was shit.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 14 April 2011 Posted 14 April 2011 A rare off day for both Wellens and King. We'd have would the game comfortably if they'd turned up. Still two of our players of the season though.
