Stearman Gets England Call

City defender Richard Stearman has been named in the England under 18 squad to face Norway at Port Vale FC on Friday evening (kick off 7pm).

Stearman met up with his international team-mates last weekend for an intensive training camp ahead of the fixture.

The 17-year-old, who is a centre-back by trade but can comfortably fill in at right-back, made eight appearances for the Leicester first team last season and scored his first goal for the club in the 3-1 victory over Millwall.

Meanwhile, fellow Fox Levi Porter has been forced to pull out of the squad with a leg injury.

Well the first choice centre backs were Anton Ferdinand, Steven Taylor and Tom Huddlstone. All of those have been regular first teamers this season in better sides than ours.
