Haydos Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 I like Mamite Contrary to their relentless insistence that there are only 2 possible outcomes after first experiencing the taste of Marmite, I feel quite apathetic towards it.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 May 2011 Posted 26 May 2011 A very good move by Denmark. Not dramatic, but still good.
z-layrex Posted 26 May 2011 Posted 26 May 2011 Do they not have border controls anyway then? How did they try to stop illegal immigration prior to this? I know the EU brings freedom of movement between the various nations for an EU citizen, but surely they till required heavy measures to stop non-EU just walking in?

shen Posted 26 May 2011 Posted 26 May 2011 A very good move by Denmark. Not dramatic, but still good. Would you care to explain why? I'm not for or against it at this stage, but I'm intrigued to hear why you're supportive of it.

acooling08 Posted 27 May 2011 Author Posted 27 May 2011 so all refugees are mean and dirty? It does because they are so heavily taxed, and generally in my limited experience of Denmark have a far better attitude to health etc than the UK. Prevention is better than cure. The immigration laws regarding residency are incredibly strict anyway. We were at a friend's wedding last year and the person I was sitting beside, who was Danish and their kids were Danish, was explaining to me how her husband (American) was refused residency because he had not spent enough time in Denmark and the most of his work was in the USA. They definitely weren't going to be signing on. Do you, like, get your world view based on a compilation of Daily Express political cartoons? What on earth has protecting borders got to do with the cleanliness and health care systems of a country? If anything is driving down the latter it's pure demographics. And immigration is the easiest and cheapest way to redress birth rate issues. Oh come off it. These african immigrants will turn up and squeeze all they could out of the system. Sure, a few would keep their heads down and get low paying labourer jobs but the majority will be no good for the country at all. I don't know much about Denmark's politics but over here they'd be on the dole and raising both racial tension and crime rates. Clearly model citizens. Come on in lads! It's seriously policies such as opening the gates to these people makes me wish I'd voted BNP.
Fosse Boy Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 Oh come off it. These african immigrants will turn up and squeeze all they could out of the system. Who said anything about Africans? Sure, a few would keep their heads down and get low paying labourer jobs but the majority will be no good for the country at all. Care to evidence your point squire? I don't know much about Denmark's politics but over here they'd be on the dole and raising both racial tension and crime rates. And again, you're basing that on what? Clearly model citizens. Come on in lads! It's seriously policies such as opening the gates to these people makes me wish I'd voted BNP. So you'd be happy to vote for a party that would deport Lloyd Dyer based on nothing more than the colour of his skin?

Because that HAS to be among the most dimwitted comments I've seen on here, and that says quite a bit

So you'd be happy to vote for a party that would deport Lloyd Dyer based on nothing more than the colour of his skin? The whole issue is on North Africans coming to Europe. These immigrants aren't going to benefit Europe are they? Illegal immigrants never are good for a country, unlike controlled immigration of trained professionals from abroad such as your pharmacists in Sainsbury's. Why should we be the dumping ground for the lowlife though? We have enough of that in the indigenous population! And I'm pretty sure that the BNP would never start a mass deportation of non-whites. Even if they want to, the EU wouldn't allow it.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 Back to the real topic this is better than Marmite
shen Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 These immigrants aren't going to benefit Europe are they? Illegal immigrants never are good for a country, unlike controlled immigration of trained professionals from abroad such as your pharmacists in Sainsbury's. USA is a wonderful example of a country that would face huge problems if it deported all its illegal immigrants. It's a great (and controlled, believe me!) way of acquiring labour willing to work without any rights and below minimum wage. Government and society gets someone to point the finger at and exploit. It's modern slavery in a way. And I'm sure the numerous immigrants trained as surgeons, dentists, scientists etc. that work as bus and taxi drivers, in warehousing and construction is a very efficient, indiscriminate and socially defensible example of how to treat highly qualified workforce.
shen Posted 27 May 2011 Posted 27 May 2011 Would you like a load of these men turning up on your street? I wouldn't. They're not even doing anything on that picture! They're congregating like a flock of *shock horror* football fans would. If you saw 40 guys wearing football shirts coming off a Fox Travel bus, would you immediately brand them as violent hooligans? I very much doubt you even know or have spoken to a North African in your life...
