The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Of course its sky induced. Didn't you realise theres only one league in this country? In fact sky is a major gripe of mine. You either have sky if; you're not a proper fan of your own team, you are an armchair supporter of the top 4/5 (whichever sky want to call it) , or you're a lazy parent who can't be arsed to entertain your own kids properly. Time and time I hear people moan about sky taking the game away from the working class man. Dig a little deeper and its these same people who actually have all the channels and are subscribed to everything going (paying more a month than their car insurance) just to get their sky sports plus, hdtv 3d, I have 500 channels and everyone is a repeat program bollocks. Mugs *sighs
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Oh n then u have the commentators. If they mention a player being world class, you can guarentee any clueless mates you have will also call him worldclass. 'Wayne rooney is world class' no he's not, everytime on the world stage he's useless.
Kitchandro Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Agree with all of that tbh. Though I do have sky I mean, I need it, I need to watch live football a lot. But other than that I'm completely against Sky. Summed them up the other week when there was Wigan V West Ham/Birmingham V Fulham/Sunderland V Wolves which were all vital relegation games yet they chose the big Club option and televised the meaningless Arsenal V Villa.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 That was last week wasn't it? I pestered the lads to go to the pub down the road (the only one that can afford it) so we got down there and I couldnt believe that what with all the important games going on they were showin villa arsenal. I've always wanted sky as a kid, purely for the football- it'd be good watching a crucial match in your own home I admit. But now being a bit more aware of what they've done to the game I'll never bother.

This is the bottom line. I also dont like a lot of what Sky do and how they go about their business but I have it because it's that or the TV football wilderness. Charging people extra for a meaningless fight last night was a bloody cheek also.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 I agree, without sky you are in the wilderness a bit. I'm not one to normally watch a game that doesn't concern me. For example its incredibly rare that i'll watch a champions league game on itv. Today though is a bit different, with 5 dramatic games being played at the same time and that the results today could go a long way in determining how well city do next season, but for the sake of say just watching MOTD instead it doesn't bother me that much. Call it a one man protest if you like, but I know if everyone done the same sky would soon be out of business.
Itsthejoeker Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 "1 nil down, who gives a f**k, we're the leicester boys and we're going up" That only worked in league one. Stop singing it for christ sake
lcfc"weasel" Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 But why the hate? Not too sure? Possibly having the Ashes on throughout the day growing up and wanting my dad to take me out but having to watch the Ashes first? **** knows really just can't stand cricket.
Corky Posted 22 May 2011 Posted 22 May 2011 Everyone should have to dress in full batting gear - pads and all - when watching the football. Good idea, but watching the football we play a box would be quite restrictive.
