h.nutt26 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 •Tunchev and Ball will be offered contracts •Kermogant will leave if he doesn't play ("if I don't play, I won't stay") •Oakley is not going to Derby •Waghorn is not going derby •Top Is hear for the long run, enjoys playing football himself and loves the banter, lovely guy (as is his dad) •When asking Sven if we are signing a new striker he replied "not yet" Other things of note. •Both konchesky and mills look class •Kasper is extremely vocal (foul mouthed), very passionate and had a solid few games with some great saves. •Schlup looks good but has away to go before he is ready for the championship, he was being coached in game by konchesky and wellens. A 6 month loan to league 1 or poorer championship side (Bristol ) and he will be much the better player.
Lcfclee Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Thanks for that interesting report especially the striker part
FuriousFox46 Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 We need a striker urgently in my opinion. Our backline and midfield is superb but the attacking side of things isn't of the same calibre.
Libertine Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Thanks for that interesting report especially the striker part Really? Just stating the obvious.

Give Top a trial Very good that Kasper is vocal was probably one of the few things that Weale lacked was never loud enough to comand a defence.
Larry_LCFC Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 Maybe Top is the 20 goal a season striker we are looking for. Best thing about it would be he pays his own wages. Sorted. Anyone got svens number?

I agree, excellent. It was one thing our whole defence missed last season I wonder if someone's had a word though, as a lot of Leeds fans say it was his weak area. As for the original post I was concerned that Konchesky resorted to the long ball too quickly, but with the class of opposition it's hard to judge so I'll happily take your word for it as you saw it in the flesh Also, Schlupp could be a great, but he needs game time, which probably equates to a loan, ideally to a footballing team. Some of his movement was good & he has bags of energy and enthusiasm, but his first touch let him down, often it would bounce 10 yards away from him... something that needs minutes on the pitch in competitive matches to overcome. Glad to hear Oakley & Waggs (don't appear) to be going, we need a deep squad where everyone has a part to play if we're serious about chasing a top 2 spot
80footgiraffe Posted 25 July 2011 Posted 25 July 2011 I think we have at the moment the capacity to draw a lot of games and keep a lot of clean sheets which is brilliant, but we do need a striker to give us the edge over our opponents in this tough league. We'll do superbly if we even sign Evans or Derbyshire. I'll take quite a few of the strikers we've been linked with so far...As long as we have one by the coventry game, im happy.

They like to get the ball down and play with it.
