The FA Cup Sweep

Right, I've no idea how this will work as it is the most ill-thought out plan I've had to date.

Pick a side in the FAC extra-prelim round.

If the side isn't playing against someone else's, you go through to the next round as the winning side from that tie.

If your team plays someone else's, the winner goes through to the next round.

Go and watch the match and you can have a bonus side in the next round (this bit will have to be done on trust). If you can afford to piss LCFC prices up the wall then you can afford to support grass-roots football for a big night out in Woodford or Groby.

Any ideas for rule improvements (or knowledge of a good sweep system that works) post it here or PM me.

I'll lob the draw in another thread so you can select your team.

...and keep your selections for the other bloody thread.

Presumably what you'd do is start with a team in the Extra Preliminary round and follow that team until eliminated, when that happens you follow the team that beat them until their elimination and repeat until in theory you're at the FA Cup Final.

Yes.

Unless I've failed to think of something important...which is highly probable.

It could end up with lots of people eliminated for the proper rounds unless I can come up with a workaround.

I think i get the jist of it...

I`ll have the mighty Greasley Rovers has a bonus team if i can (live up the road)...

And yes... This is a good way of supporting grass roots footie... Took me daughter to the Moat Ground last season...

I've officiated at Gresley first team a few times last season. Biggest crowds I've officiated under and when you disallow a goal that would make Gresley go 1-0 up for offside, I've never received so much abuse from the crowd for a game! lol

NB: it was 4th September 2010 Gresley vs Gedling Town. Finished 1-1 so yeah sorry my fault you didn't win 2-1 :P
