Considering neither had been playing regular thought they fitted in really well Thought they both did pretty well but the game was not much of a test, Watford were awful. Johnson was in complete control and switched from defence to attack with a quickness of thought that Wellens can only dream of. The real test is whether he can play like that against better sides, who will obviously put him more pressure when he has possesion and whether he is sound enough defensively. For the moment I think he is looking promising, no more than that at this stage.

Peltier - 7 - Solid game Bamba - 7 - Not his normal self i thought but still a good performance St Ledger - 6 - Didnt do much wrong, but his passing and aerial ability doesn't fill me with confidence Konchesky - 6 - Decent assist for Nugent , but just dont rate him, i think hes poor defensively , cant pass, cant cross, seems to check back ALOT! Wellens - 7 - Standard Wellens game, Nothing special Abe - 6 - Doesnt get involed enough, pulls out of tackles, steady eddie at best! King - 6 - Game passed him by Johnson - 8 - Great passing and got stuck in well! Once this lad gets fit he'll be class! Beckford - 5 - Scored but didnt little less, Not seeing this 'premiership' player that we apparently bought! Nugent - 8 - Great goal, worked hard , decent runs with/without the ball SUBS Fernandes - 6 - Ran around alot, few decent tackles Vassell - 5 - Rubbish passing ,lazy offsides, did nothing Dyer - (Not enough time to rate)
Adster Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Really not getting the Johnson love-in. He was pretty good and did the simple stuff, but nothing to show his quality. No impressive passes or shots. you obviously didn't watch the game then.

Think its more of a case that we made them look a bit better by being sloppy and gifting them time and space! No i give credit were its due and they played better football second half end of.
