acooling08 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Kasper - 8 - Few iffy kicks but commanded the box, made a lot of catches and a great save in the second half. Peltier - 7 - Another good game, defended well and ran down the wing effectively. Bamba - 8 - Beast. SSL - 8 - Watch out Mills. Great game. Always there to clear the ball. Konch - 7 - Again good defensively, final ball improved a bit too. Johnson - 6 - Did the simple stuff. Not too impressed tbh. Wellens - 7 - We missed him! Got stuck in and no hollywood passes. Abe - 7 - Great delivery for Beckford. Decent game again. King - 7 - Good first half, faded a little second half. Nugent - 9 - I love him. He works so hard like a Hume, but has quality too. Great touch and finish and unlucky not to have 2 goals. Beckford - 7 - Decent performance and good goal.

JmorsonLCFC Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Did it work with central midfielders out wide or is it still an area we could improve? <_< still need a wide man imo i thought johnson bossed it first half though
Bert Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Kasper 7 - one great save, everything else done with ease. Peltier 7 - Solid once more, decent going forward. Konchesky 6 - some decent things, some not so. Bamba 7 - impressive start continues. SSL 7 - swept up well, decent performance. Wellens 6 - see Konchesky. King 6 - meh. Didn't do much, but made some great runs. Johnson 8 - MOTM by a mile. Not even fully fit but was head and shoulders above the rest. Abe 6 - Decent cross for the goal. Nugent 7 - great touch to make his goal, an upgraded version of Hume. Beckford 6 - pleased he got his first goal, but he missed a sitter and did little else.
Narborough_fox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Kasper 8 - Should really be 7 but got up after a bash and kept Weale off the pitch which gets him an extra point Peltier 8 - Up and down the line and solid defensively again. Fought on despite a knock Bamba 8 - Solid. No fancy stuff when not needed St Ledger 7.5 - If in doubt hoof it out. Konchesky 7 - Up and down the wing but slows the play down to much Johnson 9 - MOTM for me got stuck in distributed the ball well and held onto it very well. Think he's got to start from now on. Abe 7 - Got stuck in and did what he needed to well. Good ball for Beckford's goal Wellens 7.5 - Didn't think he deserved a place in the line-up before the match but proved me wrong. Got stuck in well and didn't do any "Hollywood" balls. King 6.5 - Anonymous. Got stuck in more than usual but didn't make an impression on the match Nugent 8.5 - Ran and ran got another goal and almost a 2nd but denied by an outstanding save from Loach. Extra .5 for the goal Beckford 7 - Got a goal and showed some nice touches and ideas but didn't have any support with Nugent playing more or less as a wide man at some points. Moans too much as well.
lcfcsnow Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Surprised Beckfords getting 7's, if Yakubu put in a performance like that he'd be getting slated. 4 at best.
Father Ted Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Johnson is an absolute class act. Easily man of the match for me. I said before the match that I was very happy that he was starting and hes justified my comments. He simply controlled the game. So comfortable in possession, the best passer I have seen in a City shirt and turns with ease, hes like a FIFA player - perfection. We have a real prospect on our hands. Didnt even look fully fit imo
kingfox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Schmeichel 7 - Not much to do again, defence did the work but that save from Hogg Peltier 7 - Worked very hard tonight, didn't bomb down the wing as usual but good enough Bamba 8 - Rock solid again, dominated everything tonight St Ledger 9 - I thought he did well against Bristol apart from his error, tonight he played everything right quality performance Konchesky 7 - Better than the weekend back to his consistent best tonight Abe 7 - Played well, neat passing good cross for the goal Johnson 8 - Holder in midfield tonight and played exceptionally well, passing skills were top notch Wellens 6 - Played well in parts but kept frustrating me King 6 - Went missing in stages again, not his self this season Beckford 7 - Would of been an 8 if he continued his work in 2nd half, good 1st half though Nugent 8 - Quality again, worked tirelessly took his goal well and looked very good Fernandes 6 - Worked his socks off since coming on but passing wise average Vassell 5 - Was on long enough for me but did nothing Dyer N/A - Not on long enough
RowlattsFox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Think people have been slightly generous with their ratings. We were slightly above average in my mind. Nugent man of the match for me.

So basically the midfield got stuck in...
sg6 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Johnson was different gravy, class performance, played the simple passes and got himself in a lot of space with great movement.
Narborough_fox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 So basically the midfield got stuck in... Haha, only just realised that. Good point.
Thracian Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Kasper 7 (Standard stuff, but one reaction save showed his concentration and alertness). Peltier 6.5 (Well involved). Konchesky 6 (Functional) Bamba 7.5 (Once again our outstanding defender, a guy with genuine presence for all his eccentricities on the ball). SSL 5 (So careless. Almost gave them a goal they never looked capable of creating for themselves with a woeful pass that was one of about three passes he misplaced in a minute. Yes, he had some good moments but his bad ones always look potentially fatal). Wellens 6 (Still getting caught in possession! Just an average day's work). . King 7 (Two sublime through balls produced chances that perhaps should have been taken. Had a clever shot with the outside of his boot deflected wide and worked diligently in both defence and attack). Johnson 7.5 (Seems to be gradually emerging from his injury nightmare. He certainly had presence tonight). Abe 6 - (One assist and a steady contribution). Nugent 7.25 (Important first goal to maintain an excellent strike rate. MoM for me). Beckford 6 (A goal at last but squandered the chance of two andwas indifferent the rest of the time).
martyn Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Schmeichel 7: 1 save to make annd did it well Peltier 6.5: Solid enough and supported Abe well down the right without ever really threatening to deliver a telling ball Bamba 6.5: A bit of everything from Sol tonight. Mostly solid but gave the ball away casually 3 or 4 times 2nd half. St Ledger 6.5: Better on the ball than Mills, got beaten in the air quite a bit, even by players not named Iwelumo but was otherwise decent. Konchesky 7: Gets up and down the flank a lot more noticeably at home. Nice ball into Nugent for the goal and pleasing that no floaty 'nothing' balls were seen all evening. Johnson 7: Has obvious ability on the ball but didnt really stamp himself on the game (fitness?). 1 lovely threaded through ball for Beckford hinted at the type of ability he possesses above that of his teammates. Abe 7 Our best midfielder 1st half, industrious in all facets of the game. Sublime cross for Beckford again begs the question as to why he's not on set piece duty. Off the pace like the rest of the side 2nd half. Wellens 6.5: Thought he got mugged by Eustace a few times, particularly 2nd half. Generally ok though. King 6: Never really influenced the game. Was disappointed in him second half as never seemed available for a pass which might have helped us retain possession slightly better. Nugent 7: Willing runner as always, lovely finish for the goal, and showing that he has the best first touch of any LCFC striker in a while. Beckford 6: Goal aside wasn't great. Doesn't look particularly proficient in open play and spends a little too much time complaining when things dont go his way. Still, made some decent runs as evidenced by 1 lovely Johnson pass and a Nugent pass which almost led to a 1 on 1. Gelson 6, Vassell 5.5, Dyer 5
believer Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Beckford - 3 Got a goal. Missed a sitter and his poor tough led to numerous losses of possession,
kingfox Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 SSL 5 (So careless. Almost gave them a goal they never looked capable of creating for themselves with a woeful pass that was one of about three passes he misplaced in a minute. Yes, he had some good moments but his bad ones always look potentially fatal). St Ledger slaters are a bunch of idiots, far better than Mills has shown this season(apart from games on tele) and a far better player all round, he only hoofed it tonight when he had to, while the rest he commanded in the air, brought the ball out of defence and picked players out, something which Mills fails to do. After a cold night im off bed, but no doubt I will see awful ratings for St Ledger again when I look back in the morning, deluded fans

Guest ttfn Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Schmeichel 7 Peltier 7 Konchesky 7 Bamba 8 SSL 7 Wellens 6 King 6 Abe 6.5 Johnson 6.5 Nugent 7.5 Beckford 6
acooling08 Posted 19 October 2011 Author Posted 19 October 2011 Really not getting the Johnson love-in. He was pretty good and did the simple stuff, but nothing to show his quality. No impressive passes or shots.
frany104 Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Why is bamba getting such high ratings!? He was decent tonight but played a lot of sloppy passes leading to us being put under pressure in dangerous positions. Better quality opposition would punish us. Motm for me was Johnson. He oozes class and looks like he's got everything in his locker. Can't wait to see him fully fit!
Guest MattP Posted 19 October 2011 Posted 19 October 2011 Kasper - 7 - Steady, fantastic save second half. Even more impressive that he didnt have to do anything and pulled it off. Peltier - 6.5 - Another good game, defended well and ran down the wing effectively. Bamba - 6.5 - Huge and commanding in the air, everything they hoofed up he won, on the floor he is dreaful, gave it away numerous times in own third, do that in the prem we concede 2-3, reason why he wont make it at the top level. SSL - 7 - Much better tonight. Konch - 6 - Again good defensively, crossing improved tonight.. Johnson - 6 - Did the simple stuff. Fernandes still plays ahead of him for me. Wellens - 7 - Best game for a while. Abe - 7 - Fantastic considering miles he has clocked up last couple of weeks. King - 7 - Good first half, faded a little second half. Nugent - 9 - Tremendous, bright, intelligent, magnificent first touch, great finisher, looks THE guy we actually spent 5million on in the summer. Beckford - 6.5 - Glad to see him get off the mark, can see why so many other fans have been so frustrated with him, almost felt like he had to bust a gut to turn his head and knock it in. Sven 8 - The correct team, bout time Johnson had a run out and Cassell got removed, Darius worked hard but tonight showed even when you dont play to your peak if you have goalscorers up front V poor sides you will be far more efficient in front of goal.
mackiepas Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Just to add I thought Johnson was class tonight. Some excellent cross field balls and a defence splitting pass that we have needed from midfield for years
okie fox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 Schmeichel -8- One super save, commanded his area Peltier -7- Did well St Ledger -7- Ditto Bamba -6- Loses a point for some careless passes. Wellens bailed him out once or they would have been clean through. Koncheskey -6- Sound performance Abe -6- Good cross for Beckford's goal Johnson -8- A class act. Made time for himself, completed almost all his passes. Ran the midfield. My man of the match King -7- Think he made the pass for Nugent's goal Wellens -7- Thought he worked hard, made some vital tackles Nugent -7- Took his goal well. Works his socks off for the team Beckford -5- Not impressed by him so far SUBS all 6, provided energy but contributed little else
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 20 October 2011 Posted 20 October 2011 All this can't wait till Johnson is fit. He has been with us now for 3 months. He should be fit by now. Perhaps he needs to work a little harder!!
